Only if you're comparing getting the train with driving up on your own. Stick 4 in a car and Wigan is far cheaper.

Potentially in, although I've already done one long away trip this season and came away without seeing any football, hope that doesn't happen again.

Wiz, if you're going on the train, remember there's two stations very close to each other up there. Wigan North Western is on the west coast mainline and Wigan Wallgate for local Manchester etc services. Boozed up confusion could be and a pain to reschedule. I know, I've done it. Ended up in bloody Kirkby then had to get to Liverpool just to get back to Crewe.

4 people in a car can't be compared to a train journey for the other to be fair. If you shared a car to QPR it would make it about the same as going to Wigan.

Anyone know why someone would consider going to an away game by coach? Does it still stop for 3 hours at Chieveley so that Denny Fulbrook can have his lunch?

Away fans sat on the side for that, I have a figure of 6,000 in my mind but may have dreamt that as it seems a lot.

We had about 5,500 tickets, but didn't sell them all. Prob around 5,000.

We took 4000-4500 for the play off game. Lots of empty seats on that side despite the large travelling support. The entire gate was only 12,000, I dont think we had 50% of the gate. Still ,a proper turn out that day.

Personally I'd rather sit through a long journey on a train than on a coach, but when the return by coach is £22 door-to-door, and the return by train is £83.50 with a change, there's really no competition for someone like me for whom money is a bit tight atm.

In for the fact it is really good value and not too far from Chesterfield. Also never been to the JJB, so that will be another ground to tick off. Just hope we don't sell out the allocation before it goes on sale for those without a season ticket....

First ever time in the home end at an away game (apart from Stamford Bridge, but was in a box so that doesn't really count). Sort of worried as I tend to be a vocal fan.. I'll try and get some decent videos of the massive away following for the 500 mile round trip...
