No one is trying to win any points by 'calling' Tishbola anything.
But he is a very good player and will only get better. Even in the limited number of games he's played he's shown his quality. As you rightly say he's not quite a guaranteed starter but he's close and to sign a player who is clearly on the way down seems pointless if it is at the expense of one clearly on the way up.
Sidwell would guarantee us nothing more than Tishbola, but Sidwell would be a very short term option and probably wanting a decent wage in his last contract.
So I'd prefer to give our home grown, talented youngster the opportunity to prove himself over a much older, obviously talented but questionably fit player who would not even get a mention but for being part of a great season a decade ago.

True some players take ages to develop, some just look the part.

I personally think he's good enough to start. Even if you don't you'd have a hard time denying his talent and not recognising that his development necessitates his involvement in the team over an ageing former player in the twighlight of his career, even if he may be better than Tish at this precise moment in time.

It's a no brainer.

Not for one second of his playing time this season has Tshibola looked anything other than a full first team player. His return to fitness should make a big difference.

Not only is he good enough to start, I think he may well be just the kind of player Brian will want - so Williams (and this does not imply a criticism of him) in particular can consider himself to have some pretty fierce competition.

I'd rather Tishbola was playing, although I guess Williams is the rarest equivalent to Sidwell. If we assume Quinn, Norwood and Tishbola are in the team it only leaves a right sided midfield space and I don't think that is where a 33 year old Sidwell would sit.

I would take Sidwell back if only for the experience and teaching you could tap into to help develop Tish and any other of the midfielders who care to listen.

Okay it would be expensive as I'm sure he would want a decent wage but I am suspending reality and assuming the owners now have unlimitedly deep pockets to pay for anything that helps secure promotion this year. Plus he might do a last twenty minutes cameo and score a vital goal to get a win/draw that gets us into the playoffs at the very least.
