I hope it is balls because I can't think of a much worse choice, would have rather kept Clement
Coleman could do a two for one double deal with successive relegations

Certainly don't hold the Sunderland relegation against him and think he was actually pretty popular there. His overall record in management is well, average, though certainly post-Fulham.

Anticipating a new appointment before then?
Or even who is going to be doing the pre-match conference in a couple of hours!
As I mentioned on another thread I wouldn't be against seeing what Scott Marshall might be able to do in the interim given his work with the U-23's.

But yes the fact that the club statement mentions nothing about who will be in charge Saturday it would suggest they know who they're getting .

Now suddenly dropped to 12/1

10/1 - Slaviša Jokanović, Alan Pardew
12/1 - Mark Warburton
14/1 - Steve Cotterill

Plenty of good options out there, Jokanovic would be a good appointment but can't see him coming here, I like Warburton too and he's probably the most realistic of the bunch.

However wouldn't it be absolutely wonderful for us to go back to the 'Reading way' and get someone young and up'n'coming from the lower leagues. Two obvious options would be Nathan Jones (Luton) and Dan Cowley (Lincoln). Jones in particular has Luton playing some wonderful football and would certainly come in and make the squad his own. Might be difficult convincing him to leave a promotion chasing Luton, but it's time to show some ambition.

Warburton or Ainsworth for me.
Bruce or Hughes would be a massive mistake IMO. Knowing us though we'll go for Zola

Please not Steve Bruce, would rather have literally anyone else on that list.

Yeah he has a really awful record as a Championship manager. He is clueless at that level.............................

I wouldn't be adverse to that choice. He did well at Brentford, but was always on a hiding to nothing at Rangers & Forest. Gets his teams to play good football too.

Not that I have anything either of those two names as such, I'm not sure appointing young up'n'coming lower league managers has ever been the Reading Way.

Why is everyone clamouring for a dinsosaur manager? Bar Steve Bruce none of them are suitable choices. We need a young, fresh ambitious manager who will nurture our youth and bring them through into the first team and someone used to working on a tight budget.
