Well that sounds great. So what's the benefit of a one-off seasonal purchase? One less Direct Debit a month?

Restrictions on access to away games? No mention of Royalty Points in that article. That might be the clincher for those that want to go to Bromley, Salford, Wimbledon, Orient etc.

yeah, so one thing to watch out for. Subscription auto renews, there is a 3 month cancelations period.

you no longer get loyalty points unless you subscribe

Image

those who pay more (get the expensive subscriptions) get more loyalty points per game attended. - which is not going down well with fans.

Loyalty points will be given per game. so even if you are a season ticket holder and you dont attend a game you dont get the loyalty points for that game

top tier subscription package gives you priority over season ticket holders who have saved the points for a number of years. for instance a new fan with zero loyalty points can subscribe for the top tier subscription package today, and get priority away tickets over a season ticket holder with 3000+ points

Last year my ST in the East Stand cost £415 and I got 255 loyalty points.

Can renew this year for same price and get 230 loyalty points, but only if I go to every home league game.

Same price split over 12 months, same points if I join One Royal Core, plus I get a sticker etc.

Or I can pay an extra £144 and get 4 extra cup matches with One Royal Plus. Get 324 points if I go to all of those plus every home league game.

If your age-bracket is going to change during the season, then you have to think about it. 18-24 to Adult, buy a ST.

Adult to 65+, get a One Royal subscription.

these are all questions being asked by supporters as the website is too vague with detail. But noone from @readingsupporters is getting back to people

I mean the strategy was always to raise the revenue per fan and this model, albeit seems overly complicated will do that...

Owners have gone from custodians of the club to investors with a bottom line to protect....

and the loyalty points thing reminds me of the misunderstanding regarding the state pension - its a benefit, not an entitlement

yeah i think its a really postive improvement to be honest. Fans now have the option of spreading the cost interest free over 12 months which is great. it might attract fans that couldnt previously afford the up front lump sum to attend more matches.

but with change comes questions, and thats fine. You cant please 100% of people 100% of the time. the club do need to release a FAQ though, as there is some confusion.

One Royal Core is £34 a month for all home games in the SJM stand. That ain't bad.

Have no beef with it whatsoever. Do think they need to be explicit how the loyalty points work if you renew your ST. Do you get them in one batch as before (and how many) or just game-by-game? And while they're sorting that, can they also fix the friends and family loyalty points display on the website.
For the 2026/27 season supporters will receive the following points when they purchase the related ticketing product or by attending home fixtures:

Non-subscribers: 0 points
Essentials: 6 points
Squad: 6 points
Core or Season Ticket: 10 points
Squad + Core or Season Ticket: 12 points
Plus: 12 points
Elite: 14 points

I'll probably go with One Royal Core assuming it doesn't hit me loyalty points wise.

What if I want to pay for a season ticket in full on the day of release and don't care for any of this, do I still keep my accumulated loyalty points and get rewarded for my loyalty by going to every game or just got to pay extra for points

Bit more info on Season Tickets:

https://www.readingfc.co.uk/tickets/262 ... jski_Stand

Basically same price and same loyalty points as One Royal. 10 points for every match, home or away, that you attend. Rather than 255 points up front as with previous seasons.

Reading FC Supporter Services
@RFCSupport
The points will be added once the ticket has been used as opposed to going on in a lump sum, this will be the case for everyone. If you aren't able to attend the match, you can free up your seat on the website and still redeem 5 points for that match, the amount of 5 points applies to everyone regardless of their tier level.
So if you buy a season ticket you dont get the lump sum loyalty points up front any more. You accrue them per game (10 points per game) if you dont attend a match you dont get any points. but you can free up your seat to get 5 points back. But that has to be 24 hours before the game otherwise you dont get the points back at all. So if you fall ill on the day for instance and can't go, you dont get any points for that game. not sure i like that at all

You pay Income Tax on the following benefits if your total income exceeds the personal allowance:
State Pension
Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)
Contribution-based Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
Carer’s Allowance (or Carer Support Payment in Scotland)
Incapacity Benefit (from the 29th week)
Bereavement Allowance
Widowed Parent’s Allowance

Tbh - it all looks fairly reasonable right now. And I think that a lot of supporters will prefer the ongoing monthly payments rather than the large upfront sum every season.

Loyalty points are an ongoing debate that I appreciate people will have different takes on. I would prefer it to be based on how often you've been going to home and away games in recent years - I don't care if you've been a season ticket holder 40 years, if some young lad has done every away game for the past 3 seasons they should get priority. This kind of moves away from that with the big spenders now pushing ahead of the queue.

Agree on loyalty points, but unless they massively cut historical points, you're still going to be ahead of the queue if you've been to 25-30 games in previous seasons.

Even as a newbie, with no points, it's going take 107 games as a One Royal Elite, to get over 1500 points. That's two seasons of every league and cup game home and away.

Is there anyone that desperate to go to Bromley away, that you pay around £30 extra a month over the Core membership?

Loyalty points only last for 5 years rolling now
