If Drogba couldn't shoot he wouldn't be in the Prem.

Sonks came from Brentford - not exactly known as a skillful football factory - for nothing, to the Championship, and then to the Premiership.

Thats two major steps up. Not quite sure what other peoples expectations were, but he's far exceeded mine.

He's still developing the finer aspects of the game.

To me, Sonks is doing the job of two men at times. If he was paired with a proven, quality, Premiership centre half (Upson?), I think you'd see a different player and he'd be fine as a stopper.

In my opinion Sonko has been excellent for us and i think that many of you will agree. You can't expect us to come away from every game with points this season and we are going through a bad patch at the momment which often falls on us over the xmas period but we have to get on wih
th it and look to the games ahead and try our best to get 3 points.

Did exactly the same job as Joseph Yobo today, who is considered a very good premiership defender.

I consider Sonko a good premiership defender.

Denver Royal TBH, there's not a whole lot we can freshen up with. Who else would you atart up front? Shane Long?

But hey, Mr Mad doesn't think we need to buy anyone in January

we definately need to bring a new striker to the mad stad in jauary otherwise we might be in trouble.

Another striker, maybe. We'll also have Kitson fit (fingers crossed).

But if you look at goals scored vs. those scored against us, it looks like we should shore-up the back or having someone in that can provide more creativity up the middle. Reading are in the middle in goals scored but dangerously near the bottom gving up something like 25 so far.

goals

And stopping five of those goals would have made another 7 points maybe?

4 draws and a win. We wouldn't be moaning about that.

Our season could still be very marginal. And we should be asking are more than 3 of the teams below us capable of having a better second half of the season than our first half?

Probably not, I like to think. Unless at the same time we have as bad a first half as they all did - oops!!

Personally, the only areas I would look to change (based on lack of players available), would be Soel out for either Lita or Gunnarsson and Hunt out for Oster.

Given what we have available I would like to see Lita start - so him & Doyle up-front. Seol to the bench with Oster ahead of Hunt. Everything else as is.

Seol is pretty clearly not a forward, but I think he may be our best bet on the left just now.

Citizen Wouldn't blame Hahnemann today.

Worst for me today was Seol: he didn't look fit or bothered.

Lay off Seol and take a good look at the defence. Shocking defending for both goals today. Nowhere near tight enough to two dangerous strikers and then allow them time on the ball to turn and tee up their shots. Shoudl have been on their backs and at least given them a nudge - today's ref didn't have the bottle to award any penalties! Also, what was Ivar playing at for the second goal, dawdling and waiting for the ball to come down when he's got someone with the pace of Johnson hot on his heels?!

You realise that the second goal came from Seol losing the ball (not for the first time today), although the next events are in agreement with your comment... bad positioning from Shorey (what has happened?), Sonko jumping out of the way (ok i can't remember what happened there, but it was a mistake IIRC) and Ivar not jumping in, the scorer should never had had that much time, or space in the box.

Both goals stemmed from Ingimarsson's inability to mark or defend against Andy Johnson.
