Winner of this match come to play World Club Champiohship in Japan coming December. I prefer the team from Premiership.
Two years ago, I have seen Liverpool play against the champion team from North America in Yokohama, but 60000 seater studium was pretty much empty. Still, seeing and hearing some Liverpool supporter from England singing THAT song was amazingly touching.

Every year, I wish if Chelsea or Arsenal could win the title, as my close English friend are all either teams supporter, and they would fly to Tokyo and I can see them.
On the other hand, my Italian friend live in Milan support Inter, so I don't care if AC Milan win.

Madrid also finished 5th a year they won it and were put back in by the Spanish FA rather than the team that finished 4th.

You watch - in a few years time i bet you the champions of each country will go into a "super league" for the next season and not compete in the domestic competition till the following season!

But they'd want to stay in the super-league due to the money.

I can imagine one with a regional slant.

4 'conferences' of about 10 teams, so you play each team in your conference and a selection of teams from across the continent. Conferences are done on a regional basis, so you keep your derbies but get some of the big names involved.

Bottom teams would be recycled back to their leagues through a series of playoffs between the constituent leagues (basically the UEFA cup but not quite), but I wouldn't even bet that that would happen.

So you'd have a Northern European conference (essentially England, Scotland, Holland), a Central European one (essentially France, Belgium, Germany), a Southern Conference (Spain, Portugal, Italy) and an Eastern one (utterly pointless as there aren't any big clubs there). Top teams from the conferences go through to an end of season play-off and you have a final.

And yes, I do realise that its a bit like the NFL.
