You don;t need to smoke to pop outside the stadium at half time...

They manage to be quiet when announcing the away teams and announcing the away team scorer. That annoys me more than the volume at half time to be honest. I know they're doing it because they don't want to excite the away fans, but really, they are already excited as they've just scored a goal!

I agree, utterly childish behaviour. Some of us would like to hear the opposition line-up.

The trouble is, these attention-seeking ubertwats are even worse when you put them in front of an audience with a microphone. Can't they understand that we're all capable of enjoying a football match without them laying on organised idiocy?

I'm in the East stand and I thought it was way too loud! I think it's this announcer because the first home game when he was away the sound was much more bearable as that guy realised that he had a microphone and therefore didn't need to shout as well.

Quite pathetic use of music up there.

Crank the volume up on a not very atmospheric peice of music which lasted way too long and had the whole crowd stood, arms crossed and chatting to their neighbour whilst waiting for it to finish.

The Sunderland fans made plenty of noise during the game, there was no reason to dampen things down with loud music before the kick off.

Speaking as someone who already has hearing damage.........I said, SPEAKING AS SOMEONE............

I try to protect what I have left. This includes wearing ear plugs when I ride my motorcycle, when I use power tools and when I am subjected to the Madejski PA, which I am sure is in excess of the safe limit of 85dB.

I have had the pleasure of speaking to the senior audiologist at RBH who also sits in the east stand and regards the PA as being "loud."
