Away Fans in the wrong end

I really struggle to see why the stewards allow away fans in colours in. They're just inviting trouble..

I remember a game once (Barnsley or Burnley, not a Reading game) where the stewards were trying to stop me getting in, because of my accent. I had to protest that I was there as a neutral and actually a Reading fan (by showing membership cad) before letting me in...

Before the game we went into the Oakford Social Club and I had to remove my Reading shirt. If I have to do this in my home town, why should Liverpool fans be allowed to wear their red shirts in the home end?

Surrounded by away fans in Y19 last night, not a hint of a problem at any time and none of them leapt up and celebrated their goals. Have to say if they want to see a game badly enough that they have to sit where they can and not with the away end, then fair play. If the club made it so easy to sign up for membership and with tickets on general sale, what's the problem with those individuals? If the STHs don't take up their seats and there aren't enough "casual" home fans to fill the spare seats, then it's fine - as long as they behave, of course.
Frankly, I have more problems with the presence of certain home fans and the way they behave week in, week out than than a few away fans in a one-off cup game.

i sold a spare ticket outside the game to an everton fan, when we played them, he was fine and very complimentary

They were stopping people in shirts from getting in from about 6. The Liverpool fans were already in there by then.

Was absolutely no football gear after the game though.

i was in th eaway end vs UTD away in the eleague
cheered reading, didnt wear colours
but the mancs around us were fine about it
i wasnt to abusive mind you, and kept my shouting in short bursts
may have been different if wed won, but
i dont see th eproblem if they dont go over the tp or wear their shirts
if they do that they deserve whatever they get

They are not Liverpool fans they are people who have been born raised live and work in Reading yet would rather see a team that is 200 miles away who they have no connection with beat there own home town club?
For that reason they should not be let in the ground!

Apart form Mr Corner, you forget one crucial rule about "supporting your local team".

You are allowed to support the team that your father (and in some cases, mother) supported. It is this rule that will allow my kids to support Reading, cause by your rules they would have to be Leeds fans. And that aint happening...

So it is entirely feasible that these 'local' liverpool fans have links to scouse land. This is obviously unfortunate for them, but there you go.

Indeed, the two with me last night travelled up from Brighton but both have family roots with Liverpool.

So what? If people aren't able to take the fact that somebody supporting the other side may be sat near them, it's they that have the problem.

its about respect mate i wouldnt sit in the kop with my blue and whites on and then cheer when and if reading score , if i couldnt get a seat in the away end its simple i wouldnt go cos i do have respect for other fans

I've seen plenty of Reading games from home areas, I see no link between where I sit and 'respecting' a bunch of strangers...
