How about having the half time entertainment whereby a randomly selected person from a pre-selected list of one name has to go round each zone collecting hidden crystals, they then get thrown into a big dome and have to pick golden gamble tickets out without letting any silver ones in. For every golden gamble ticket collected the ticket holder gets a slice of pizza.... unless their corresponding silver ticket was collected in error which would cancel out the golden ticket.

As a bonus prize, five lucky golden gamble ticket holders will win a tour of the marsbar factory in Slough.

By which I assume that you mean the North East Corner? Try sitting on the UW side of the stadium and you'll get a sense of where the most noise comes from - and the NE corner is it! (I sit directly opposite Y24-26 and you lot are not the noisiest, or the most tune ful etc etc - trust me).

I know it seems to be Y25 at the moment but maybe it would be good to create an area at the back of the north stand (away from the drummer) to help improve the atmosphere in that area. Thoughts?

me and a few others tried to make this happen a few years ago when i was still a bright-eyed bushy tailed optimistic and nieve teenager...

this was back in the day when moving about was pretty easy cos the stadium was half empty. a few people moved and i guess their still there. it was a pretty huge thread, but the impact was pretty minimal. i moved back after a couple of games.

best thing is for people to just ask around and see if there are other people who wanna join you and move there, and then do it.

if you can get a singing block up there good luck to you! but we tried pretty hard to get loads of people to move and very few did in the end.

Precisely. So, if the best place, acoustically, is the N stand then that is where the singing area needs to be - and thank you for pointing out to me exactly what I had already implied!

It's a nice, simple, equation that applies at every club, whether they have a "singing block" or any other artificial construct.

Tension, passion and excitement on the pitch = noise and atmosphere from the stands.

Tension, passion and excitement on the pitch against a "big" club or in a match that matters = double noise and atmosphere from the stands.

Submission or lack of passion on the pitch = no noise and atmosphere from the stands.

It really is as simple as that - and all the "singing areas," "whistling areas", "scarf-waving areas", song-sheets, drums, etc etc won't change that.

all the fans need to sign together!!! there are so many poeple there that arejust there to wtch the chelseas and the utd..... shove all in the west stand there the ones that dont sing did you know we are the second most quiestest fans in the league we need a way to create an area just for season tickets holder just one hole stand but a system which works so that we can get rid of the fans that are there only for the big game and hvae only true Reading football fans........

Rubbish!

Look at Europe where 'Ultras' have sections of the ground, sections where straight members do not go. A large area of like minded fans, all together makes a lot of REGULAR noise.

You can't join in if you're in West Upper when East Stand are singing, get the singers together, there WILL be more noise, and this will be boosted even further with tension on pitch as the straight members may then also get involved!

There would be an opportunity to allow people to opt in to this when the stand is enlarged.

Simply offer the relevant seats near existing "singing blocks" specifically to people who want to make a noise

Time to campaign for it would be when this is being built. I think the club would cooperate if it does not involve a lot of work or people being forced to move.

i think that the mad stad should have a singing block.... to boost the atmosphere...now from my experience of footballmatches most teams and there fans have dedicated blocks for there die hard fans!!!!!!!!!!!! i think that the mad stad should create one so that all the die hard royal fans can sit or stand with each other and create the best atmosphere possible and then stick all the fans that dont sing in on section....
if this was to happen then we could creat an imtimadating atmosphere for the visiting teams..... which european teams do and it works!!!!! if anybody wants evidence of this then watch fenerbache vs chelsea and you will see that the fans can make a diffeerence............. what do people think

I agree! People say its all down to the players on the pitch,but its when they are not playing so well that they need the vocal support to give them a lift. There are so many contrasting views on fans on HNA? alone let alone the whole of the Reading fans base.Therefore putting like minded fans together would be mutually beneficial to those who want to sing and those that don't.Given the current circumstance though it would be difficult.However the stadium expansion is an opportunity for a fresh start (if it happens)

IT WOULD NEVER WORK, the club would not allow it, no-one would bother going in it and it would fall flat on it's face after one game. Just like it did at other grounds
