For me it has nothing to do with the one player you talk of. I just don't like the club itself.Smoking Kills Dancing Doe wrote:Holaway is so far up his own ass. Have hated him from his Rover's days.
Why do we hate Southampton? One comment from one player?
Get over it.
LOL, you've talked me round! I want Southampton to go down.Silver Fox wrote:I want 'aints to go down and then I'm going to record the following Meridian Soccer Night and keep it forever, I caught a bit of it last week and Andy Steggall was close to tears throughout

I had always quite liked Southampton, mainly for Le Tissier's skills, but I used the 606 boards a lot in our Championship winning season, at the end of which Southampton fans in particular (also Leicester fans, ironically) made it clear that our tinpot club would be a disgrace to the top division, and that they would soon reclaim their rightful place in the top flight. So I won't be too bothered if they fall into League One.Smoking Kills Dancing Doe wrote:Holaway is so far up his own ass. Have hated him from his Rover's days.

But it's not just one player's comment's is it? It's more to do with the constant snide remarks from Berkshire based Southampton fans for many a year spouting patronising bollocks about RFC, it's about Graeme Souness not being able to lose gracefully at Elm Park when they were soundly beaten in a match not even worthy of comment on Football Focus that morning. It's about for so long being the little club patted on the head by the bigger club and told to run along and play with the little boys. It's now about being able to look down on such a poxy club at last and say "I'm loving watching your demise into lower league obscurity you bastards". I hate Southampton (although not as much as Portsmouth).Smoking Kills Dancing Doe wrote:Holaway is so far up his own ass. Have hated him from his Rover's days.
