If we've sold 17k+ 2 days before the game how are we going to struggle to fill 16k seats ? I can't quite get my head round the maths there....

A sub 20k crowd does seem odd though, an away attendance of around 1000 also seems quite incredibly low

Not, quite. The club were anticipating a crowd around the 21,000 mark. I guess we'll just have to see, but if you think Derby, whom have a strong away following, not to mention 30,000+ crowds at home, will only bring a mear 1300 or so, you're potty. And I would expect to see our home support start reducing unless our form also follows suit. 20,000 at least Saturday.

Well, personally speaking i have little interest in attending games at the Madejski. The reasons are many and have been documented at length on here.

However, i think for most people it is shear economics. A dad and his lad going to a game will cost little short of £50 for most people and that, by most people's measure, is a fair chunk of the family disposable income. No wonder so many are picking and choosing.

Yeppers, but many will still deny that cost is a big factor, those that can afford it often do without looking at the value, probably do the same with cars and other stuff they buy as well, still each to their own, recession, what recession.

However this is yet another time when we can sit back and feel it's all a bit surreal that we're worried about not getting 20k to a game - it must be my small club mentality but it seems a biggish number to me !

I wasn't gonna go, but the Doyler has convinced me around. I couldn't choose any seats on the East Stand and North wasn't particularly empty so I reckon 20,000 mark, maybe more, as per usual.

Spot on, particulary with the amount of live tv games too. Half price season ticket is no deal at all.
