I would be very surprised if the reduction in VAT leads to cheaper tickets at RFC and other venues. I suspect that in most cases the cut will be implemented but will be balanced out by a slight increase in ticket prices prior to adding the new lower rate of VAT!

Be surprised - all matchday prices reduced by 50p.

It would be a nice gesture of RFC to send savings onto STH's by sending them a voucher to use against, say, a £25 or more purchase in the megastore (14 home games left x 50p = £7) That way supporters won't feel done out of their £7 or what ever it is and RFC will get more revenue from the result of their "honesty"

Why would they do that, they have to pay the full VAT on all ST that they sold.

Looking at it from you POV then maybe it is lost revenue - but how much do you think the mark up is on these items. 14k x £25 = £350K - £70K = £280K of revenue that they wou;dn't have potentially had

Really?? R£C paid all the VAT on ST's upfront without putting it all in the bank and getting as much interest on it, before paying the bill at the last possible moment??? I'm shocked!!!

For the record, the actual VAT refund per adult season ticket holder is actually the princely sum of £5.18.

ST price = £400.00
Price ex VAT = £340.43
Price with VAT at 15% = £391.49
VAT refund on whole ST = £8.51
VAT refund per match = 37p
VAt refund for remaining 14 matches = £5.18

I'm not going to lose much sleep over this, although a voucher for a fiver for each STH would be a nice gesture.

Fair point then, now i see where you are at, however they just had a firesale of stock, that it appearts they were giving away, accordingn to many on here, so perhaps the boom on merchandising is over for a while.

The warehouse sale was all old stock that they wanted to get rid of rather than a desperate attempt to raise cash !

The idea that a voucher for STH to spend is a nice one and amy well pay for itself in terms of extra trade, but I don't think we're owed any VAT rebate at all any more than I'm owed it on the tank of petrol I bought last week but have only used half of.

If I bought a ticket for the Coventry game today, before this 'change' they would have charged me £26.50 (or £29.50 in the Upper West).

Now it's £26 (or £29).

The proper prices should have been £25.93 and £28.87 (UW).

In the first case the club have conned me out of 7p, in the second, nearly DOUBLE that - 13p.

Have they put the prices up then??? am sure it is £22-50 now in the three proper stands!!

The duty on petrol went up to cover it tho
