Actually I assumed you had a ST, but re reading the first post I see not, perhaps the three family you sit with could go to the club and ask to move, fromm boxing day, if a suitable group of seats are together, with a spare next or very near that you can hopefully purchase for individual games.M U R T Y wrote:Are you just posting to wind me up? I hope you are not insinuating I am a glory hunter! Been sat in Y26 for about 6 years, before that North Stand, before that Southbank... Which is why I am so annoyed that after 6 years, I can no longer sit in the same seat anymore.
Thye did that at times, not sure why they no longer do, perhaps that is something STAR might bring up if they get to talk about this issue, also, can they not use the black netting across the seats, this way they could keep home fans from under the clock, and keep a few seats clear in the away section, especially where most away teams are not selling out.Twix wrote:Wouldn't it make more sense to move the away fans to the other half on the south stand?

Whilst I 100% agree with the sentiments of the above, I think it has something to do with the size of the allocation. IIRC, we have to give 10% of the ground (or 3,000 seats - whichever is the lower) to the away club - I don't think either half of the South Stand holds 2,400 people but the east side is slightly bigger hence why it is used first.Winchester Royal wrote:I asked why they can't move the away fans into the other half of the South Stand... That explains everything, and the club's outlook on it.That Friday Feeling wrote:I don't see the problem. I can get a coin into the south stand from Y25.

Sadly, In my experience yes. I'm an upper westy now, but have been over t'other side a few times to sit with mates and have witnessed it on numerous occassions.Sarah Star wrote:I thought the only things ever thrown at the Mad Stad were insults. Nothing ever gets that heated does it?
If they are just wanting to create a buffer zone then why not section off the area of away fans nearest to Y26The 17 Bus wrote:Stadium is not selling out, so a buffer zone makes sense I guess.
No, that's wrong. The West side of the South Stand meets the requirements for the Football League (where we need to provide 2000 away spaces), whilst the East side meets the 10% requirement for the Premier League. So there's no reason at all why the club can't put away fans in the West side only, and then for clubs that need more seats block off a few hundred seats nearest the East Stand. This becomes a "problem" only if an away club can fill the entire end, because obviously we would want to sell all those tickets.T.R.O.L.I. wrote:Whilst I 100% agree with the sentiments of the above, I think it has something to do with the size of the allocation.
