I'msure Ipswich actually spent a lot this season. Several £m at least.

That's one of the reasons Magilton went. He'd spent a bucket load and managed to compete for mid-table mediocrity.

New board came in two days before firing Magilton for failing to get them into the playoffs. They have good financial backing so will make money available to Keane. Be interesting to of heard the opinions of Stead and Miller when the new manager was annoucned

John Madejski's managerial record:

MM - resigned his position for Leicester December 94.
JQ/MG - left by mutual consent May/June 97.
TB1 - sacked March 98.
TB2 - sacked September 99.
AP - effectively resigned his position for West Ham September 2003.
SC - still here.

John Madejski hasn't sacked a manager for 10 years, and has only sacked a manager twice in his 20 years at the helm of RFC. You could maybe say that "mutual consent" is code for sacking as it's clear the board don't want the manager(s) there, so you could throw JQ/MG into the ring as well. 2.5 sackings then
