I thought the boy at half time wasn't going to say anything - there seemed to be an almighty pause before he screeched his "Back the boys". They seem to be concentrating on the under 8s, thus trying to ensure that no expletives get shouted out!

I think maybe if they want to encourage kids (and their families) to go to more games they need to concentrate on an older age group. Nice though all this is if you're 8 or under, anyone older gets put off. I expect even the 10 year olds think it's babyish. If they could find something teenagers would enjoy - within reason - then the younger ones would think it was cool too. The younger ones already have Kingsley and can be mascots and have all the Young Royals stuff, they need something for the older ones - don't ask me what though.

Stuff LI seems to work becasue most people appear to actually go to the rugby to have a good time.

Whereas too many people seem to go to the football to find something new to moan about !

Top class fight at the rugby, did all 30 manage to get there in time to have a go ? And all dealt with by 2 yellow cards and handshakes all round. Top entertainment.

I thought my ears were going to bleed. If they think some kid screeching down the mic is going to encourage the crowd to "back the boys & make some noise" any more than they already do, they're totally and utterly wrong. They issue a kiddies team with RFC flags to wave when the teams enter the pitch.

Then usher them off.....having firstly grabbed the "expensive" flags back

Surely to let them keep them..... to wave incessently for 90 minutes would be .....seen as far too generous....FFS Reading
