The other week, when I was visiting Exmouth for the afternoon to have some beers, I got talking to a Shammer in one of the pubs. I asked him for his opinion on Zola, seems like he didn't like him cos he's ex-chelsea. I asked if the lack of money was a problem for the Shammers, he denied it and said the situation was going to improve. Then again, he didn't like Curbishley cos he pissed off.

Yeah maybe, I just don't think it's been that bad has it? He still seems to have a reasonable squad, and not one worse than Curbs left behind really.

He's been able to bring in some decent players, and not lose many at the same time. They just don't seem to do much with them.

Millwall were founded on the eastern side of the Isle Of Dogs which is east of the City and north of the Thames, hence in the East End. They moved sarf of the river in the early 20th century, but their roots and identity are undoubtedly East End.

I remember the name but can't remember if he came on here or one of the Hammers who used to visit just referenced his rumours a lot. I think he was a jouro or mates with a journo and used to claim to be ITK, but pretty sure the stuff he came out with didn't happen.

Millwall "Rovers" were founded by the workers of a gentlemen's club in Millwall in the East End of London on the Isle of Dogs in 1885. J.T. Morton had his first factory in Aberdeen, Scotland in 1849 to supply sailing ships with food. They opened their first English cannery and food processing plant on the Isle of Dogs at the Millwall dock in 1870, and attracted a workforce from across the whole of the country, including the East Coast of Scotland who were predominantly Dundee Dockers.
The secretary was seventeen year old Jasper Sexton, the son of the landlord of The Islander Pub in Tooke Street where Millwall held their meetings.

Millwall were the only club up to the early 1960s allowed to kick-off home games at 3.15pm, instead of 3pm, specifically to allow the dockers and Deal porters to finish their morning shift and arrive at the game on time. In recent years the club has started to once again recognise its unique link with London's docks by introducing 'Docker Days', and archiving the club's dock roots in the Millwall FC Museum.

Whatever their current location, you cannot deny that Millwall's geographic origin and cultural roots are firmly in the East End.
