I could never understand why there wasnt a mezzanine floor put in the voids directly above the concourse areas. Looking at it purely as a business, it seems to me that once you have got punters in a captive space, you should look at maximising every single opportunity to relieve them of their cash. An upper floor allows more food/drink opportunities, you could even chuck a bit of cheap carpet down, put a fruit machine or two in, and charge a small premuim to gain gain access to it.No Fixed Abode wrote:I mentioned this a few seasons ago. The club need to ditch the exposed breeze block look and smarten it up a bit.Terminal Boardom wrote:I would like to see the concourses smartened up. They have been untouched since opened and they still look half finished. When one looks at facilities at other sports stadia worldwide, going to the Mad Stad is a real let down. But since when does the club give a fig about the supporters?
Poor fishingNo Fixed Abode wrote:The club do need to look at themselves though. Marketing of the club is woeful and so is their football in the community scheme. The club should be getting in to all primary schools in the area and marketing the club to catch supporters at a young ag before they go off a support the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea.
And I still cannot believe there is no club shop in the town. I know they trialled it a while ago. Not only would it be a point of sale, but a place to advertise the club. A Saturday afternoon out of the football season, Town full of parents with their kids, Kingsley out on Broad Street promoting the club, giving out promotional leaflets..............I feel the club could do a lot more.......but it seems to me there are far too many people at the club not passionate about the brand.
They are actually.Royal Lady wrote:tbf the club aren't into all the Primary schools in the area though are they?
Fishing or not, I actually think not Kes makes some valid points.
Hope you also told them food and drink is overpriced, the quality of food and beverage is poor and service is poor. That Friday Feeling wrote:I was a 'mystery shopper' in the concourse once.
I told them it's shit but it made bugger all difference.
I got free tickets to some games when I was at school. And that was back in the 1970s. All I had to do was ask a teacher.Royal Lady wrote:The club contact schools and offer them cheap tickets - they've done that at my kids' schools when they were all at school - however, they do NOT have an RFC coaching or holiday club or whatever at EVERY primary school in the area.
Why do they need a "holiday club" at EVERY primary school?Royal Lady wrote:The club contact schools and offer them cheap tickets - they've done that at my kids' schools when they were all at school - however, they do NOT have an RFC coaching or holiday club or whatever at EVERY primary school in the area.

They have really decent deals for families to take their kids to RFC games which is where the seeds are sown.
