Some of the posts on here are absolutely ridiculous.

We got outplayed by the best side in the division - one who have 3 years of good planning to get to this point.

We didn't embarrass ourselves and Stam didn't get it totally wrong - we got outplayed by clearly a good side

Obviously there are a number of complaints - our complete lack f threat from set pieces and defending against their breakaways, but we are still in a very very good position in the league considering the squad we started the season with

Now we need to bounce back again like we have from every other bad little set of results we have had this year

Starting to get concerned about the number of times we 'didnt turn up' or 'never got going' this season.

Even half the times we win, I leave thinking "how the hell did we win that?! They had way more chances than us".

Don't think we're as good as our league position suggests, but the aim for this season was to stay out of the bottom half of the table, which we should have in the bag by now. Anything higher is just a bonus.

I think we'll win the next 2 games, Wolves are a bit of a shambles right now so we've got to be looking for 4pts at least I feel.

Some absolute meltdowns here. Brighton have been one of the two best teams in the league since the start of the season, and they've been a project in progress for three seasons now, with a much more expensive squad, and the likes of Knockaert who is literally Premier League quality.

3-0 is embarrassing, but considering the progress we have made since the farce that we were last season, I'll take the odd spanking.

Brighton are top of the league, clearly a much better side much further along in their plan than us, and they were extremely good at punishing us for our sloppiness.

Trouble is the doom mongers will no doubt start putting pressure on the players. I'm dreading how some of them will be getting on their backs against Wolves.

Its not the fact we've lost, it's the manner of the loss. We offered very little. No real quality in our wing backs, no real threat up front. No real muscle or nouse in the middle. Fair play to Stam, he's stopped the rot and turned us round, but he needs more from the players and a realistic plan B to make the step up. Nearly but not quite this season.

Part of our inability to impose ourselves was down to the fact they are a good experienced side though - clearly not through lack of effort or heart

We all know we aren't the finished article - it's up to the likes of Swift, Kelly, Evans and Blackett - all likely key but inexperienced players - to look and learn from that and be that bit better next game, next season etc

We were always going to be on the wrong side of hammering today, the way Brighton play is perfect for the Championship and is everything we struggle againts. As others have said I don't think there is any shame in todays defeat, not only are Brighton one of the best teams in the league but we are over-achieving massively.

That said however I am concerned that we don't seem to be learning from our mistakes, I've lost count how many times this season we have been hit on the counter this season from corners. We have to learn how to set up when attacking to protect ourselves, bombing full backs on is great but it leaves us so open.
My other concern is the January signing, so far they seem to have unsettled the team and I think they are going to need a while to settle.

I'm sure we can kick on from this and keep our play off postion but we could do with putting a good couple of wins together now as Fulham will be within 4 points if they win their game in hand.

Watching that game you had no idea who was playing up front. The midfield looked completely disjointed. As for the Defense which you would of thought would have been more organised under stams stewardship was exposed. January loans have not so far enhanced our performance so moving forward unless the Team play to their strengths I am worried we might go on a losing streak.

Al Habsi's distribution is shocking

I agree 100% he makes some exceptional saves but the amount of misguided passes and flaps he does combine far outweighs his good points! And I wish we'd take a chance in the final third sometimes rather going back to our own keeper again and again and again...

So what?... I can remember when Bury was our bogie team. Let Brighton have their first season in the Prem.. God only knows how desperate they are to be there. Silly little big club need to crack on with 4 4 2 next season.. parachute payments have been their envy for years.

I thought Grabban looked pretty good to be honest tonight. Mutch have serious doubts about, partly going on what Palace fans thought of him

Still a cynical challenge that should probably have got him his second yellow.

I think I'd want a Reading or neutral player to have done worse to be sent off. He could have gone certainly, but from an objective view I think the ref made the right call. It's hardly a poor decision, maybe 60/40 at worst.

We saw enough of Sidwell over many years to know that he knew exactly what he was doing, which was to commit the foul to prevent Grabban getting a shot in, which he succeeded in doing. The ref's approach should not change just because a player is already on a yellow but I would bet that Sidwell would have been booked for that foul had he not been.
