And a success based in no small part quite ridiculously on an entire defence who were playing in League One or Two in the last five years - Egan, O'Connell and Basham (for United), Stevens (Portsmouth) and Baldock (MK Dons). And on a Reading reject too in Oliver Norwood.

Very much more than the sum of their parts, emphasised in no player scoring more than six goals in all competitions, and no-one outside of the defence making more than 28 league starts.

Not convinced they can repeat the feat next season - that lack of a goalscorer will hurt them, but I hope they find a way.

Mostly +1, but Norwood was not a Reading reject. He was sold to Brighton for a good fee, who were better placed to promotion than us. What I would say is both Brighton and Fulham discarded him after promotion, but he has proven his worth at Sheffield United given the chance.

Yeah, they are prime candidates for second season syndrome. They'll need to strengthen, otherwise I think they'll be sussed out next year.

Losing at home to Newcastle and Palace and in doing so making these two very moderate sides look like top 6 teams didn't help their season.
Very big spenders in the transfer market but with so few successes.

When it was nearly all over and before the season really got going Bournemouth played decent attacking football but for most of the season have been dire, relying on set pieces and long throws to become a poor man's Wimbledon.

I fully expect a managerial change with the current manager having become too comfortable but stale.
It will be interesting to see how many players they will hang on to-Callum Wilson, Josh King and Nathan Ake look most likely to leave as well as possibly David Brooks.
Without these players they might be looking at a lengthy stay out of the Premier League and if the Russian owner with deep pockets pulls out they could slip further down the football pyramid.

In the meantime I am hoping that we don't get to play them behind closed doors.
