Will try and watch the highlights today to see, but I did see a still of the Roma penalty, which I thought was a bit harsh on Pogba, not 100% sure what else he could've done when trying to block a cross.URZZZZ wrote:Terrible penalty call to United at 3-2 seemed to cause Roma to crumble tooNathStPaul wrote:The Roma goalkeeper was very helpful to United. Were Roma just terrible in the second half?
As long as Utd don't have a monumental cock up in the second leg, the away goals really don't matter.
Also looked tired - had to use all three subs in their first 30 minutes, including their backup GK
Eh? The best period of British football in Europe was the 70s and early 80s. English clubs (Liverpool, Forest and Villa) won 6 consecutive European Cups, and 7 in 8 years, whilst Ipswich and Spurs both won the UEFA Cup. This is nothing like the 'heydey' of British clubs in Europe.Simmops wrote:yes and I said if it happens again it will a return to the best period of British football where we regular had teams winning and in semis and finalsgenome wrote:That happened two years agoSimmops wrote:Is this the return to a heyday for British football? Well done for explaining the obvious

I was amazed that was given...both penalties were 'soft' but understandable.URZZZZ wrote:Terrible penalty call to United at 3-2 seemed to cause Roma to crumble tooNathStPaul wrote:The Roma goalkeeper was very helpful to United. We had a decent run in the mid-2000s as well. From your mob winning it in 2005 to Chelsea winning it in 2012. There were eight English clubs in the finals but just the three wins.Sanguine wrote:Eh? I thought the Roma pen was a stick on tbf - don’t think his hands are in a natural position whatsoever but may just be me as the general consensus was that it was harshBR0B0T wrote:I was amazed that was given...both penalties were 'soft' but understandable.URZZZZ wrote:Terrible penalty call to United at 3-2 seemed to cause Roma to crumble tooNathStPaul wrote: The Roma goalkeeper was very helpful to United. They were shit tbf. Couldn't string two passes together in the second half and didn't have enough men behind the ball
Yup - a certain OGS played that game (off the bench of course)Hendo wrote:Didn't Utd put 7 past them as well in a Champions League game a number of years ago?
Nor did most Forest fans, but it doesn't stop them singing about it every week.Simmops wrote:I wasn't alive then so for me it doesn't count as I never saw itSanguine wrote:Eh? So that's him x1, Marcelo, 1 and then Hazard 58 times.Orion1871 wrote:Raphael Varane becomes the 60th Real Madrid injury/illness of the season a couple will miss the Chelsea game.
