You know, I was reviewing the run of results that ultimately got Hunt the sack and was he perhaps hard done by? In hindsight that looks like a pretty rough opening set of fixtures.

The league games under Hunt:
  1. Lincoln (A) - 0-2 - 2.15ppg
  2. Huddersfield (H) - 0-2 - 1.46ppg
  3. Wimbledon (H) - 1-2 - 1.32ppg
  4. Bolton (A) - 1-1 - 1.69ppg
  5. Wycombe (A) - 2-2 - 1.44ppg
  6. Port Vale (H) - 1-0 - 0.84ppg
  7. Barnsley (A) - 2-3 - 1.35ppg
  8. Leyton Orient (H) - 2-1 - 1.26ppg
  9. Stockport (A) - 1-1 - 1.62ppg
  10. Mansfield (H) - 1-1 - 1.32ppg
  11. Exeter (A) - 1-1 - 1.08ppg
  12. Cardiff (A) - 1-2 - 1.97ppg
  13. Northampton (H) - 1-0 - 0.90ppg
  14. Doncaster (H) - 1-1 - 1.28ppg
Problem was not winning in the first five games will always put the manager on the back foot for the season, regardless of who you play as too many people simply look at league position when it comes to judging a manager. Any relative blips, like Doncaster, won't be ignored.

Didn't help a lot of our signings were made after the season started (Marriott; Ritchie; D Williams; etc.), nor did the injury to O'Connor.

I recall Hunt saying the team wouldn't be fully gelled until December and that's when we would expect our results to improve a lot as well. Guess what's happened...

He got one transfer window with no restrictions and started that with seven players.
Literally, the moment he lost to Swindon, he lost about half the fans.

It's proper 'take a long hard look in a mirror' stuff.

And when you point out that the relegation slots aren't set in stone in October, because they're not, you have all of Team Mouth Breather Special Ops jump on you. Supporters of a club that were in worse straits wrt relegation less than two years ago and somehow escaped.

I'm just ... sorry, I'm just disappointed.

Having been literally the only person on here saying that play-offs might be a thing (we're still not quite good enough but it will be a close run thing), I'm in Rockville MD for that Saturday and Oak Ridge TN the midweek.

The odds of watching League One play-offs in town that used to be a secret nuclear base seem pretty miserable.

I looked up the rules for TV Selections and it seems the penultimate week of fixtures are announced 3 weeks prior, so April 4th.

Just looking at our Easter fixtures....IF we can win at Huddersfield, Lincoln could be hungover on the Monday. If they beat Wimbledon at home on Good Friday and Bolton fail to beat bang in form Plymouth, Lincoln's promotion will be confirmed.

Of course the title is up for grabs, but we could see a drop off.

Not 100% accurate. Even if Lincoln win/ Bolton do not, Stockport can still catch them. Obvs they have to win their last 8 games, and overturn a large goal difference, but a Stockport win on Friday would ensure Lincoln still need something from our game.

Aye. A combination of the bedwetters and Couhig already having Leam in mind going in.

The shit start certainly put him in trouble, then he was recovering reasonably ok, but those 4 draws in his last six just did for him. Convert just one of those into a win, particularly Doncaster, and I think he might be still here with us in about 12th-14th.

Bit of a surprise, feels like there's not much difference in stakes between our game and the Doncaster - Stevenage but would have thought there would be more likely to be higher interest in our game. Won't complain though.

Last call will be the final round of fixtures then since they can announce those changes a week in advance and it doesn't matter too much as the game doesn't get rescheduled, just televised.

Were they not all on Sky Sports+ last season, with a couple of matches on the main channels?

Would say there's a very good chance we'll selected for the main channels at the moment. The automatic battle should be over and it's likely both ourselves and Blackpool could be playing for something (play-offs and survival respectively).

Yeah, very possible, hopefully we can stay within the hunt for the play offs.
