Absolute shambles. If you can't afford a flight, then a train will take you over four days. And all for a match that kicks off at 11pm local time to accommodate the European audience.PieEater wrote:It was always going to be a problem getting there whichever team made it, so why did UEFA decide to hold it there? Obvious answer is that Baku paid handsomely for the privilege, so UEFA should use that cash to help people get there. Doubtless they will but only for the 50k+ tickets not given to fans.
Currently there are no direct flights and changing means a minimum 10hrs travel time. It's crazy.
To be fair the kick off time will help the players as they can stay on UK time and prepare as if for an 8pm ko.Sanguine wrote:Absolute shambles. It would cost them bugger all to subsedise those fans and pay for cheap club travel if going by the travel club. Disgusting....but then if you support a branded club what do you expect.Whore Jackie wrote:Liverpool have earned €188m over the last two years combined in the CL.Winston Biscuit wrote:Champs League money breakdown for this season

Man United earned €133m in the same time frame. Missing out on the top-four is going to be expensive for them next year, even with a decent UEFA coefficient presumably boosting any Europe League payments.

Ticketing for both finals is the standard complete and utter disgrace for the fans of the clubs actually competing. Nothing but a jolly good jolly for all the corporates and various dignatories.Winston Biscuit wrote:Arsenal and Chelsea have each been allocated just 6,000 tickets for the Europa League final at the 68,700 Olympic Stadium in Baku.![]()

Taking into consideration the geographical location and logistical capacity of airports in and around the host city, it was deemed that around 15,000 spectators would be able to travel from abroad (this includes finalists' fans and general public), with Baku as the main hub."
It added that "offering more tickets to fans of the participating teams, without any guarantee that they would be able to arrange suitable travel to reach Baku, was therefore not a responsible option".
"Based on these circumstances, for this year's UEFA Europa League final in Baku, 6,000 tickets have been made available to each of the finalists."
It would be an even bigger shithole after tens of thousands of drunk English football fans were finished with it.From Despair To Where? wrote:Am I right in saying that one of UEFA's reasons for only giving them 6,000 tickets is that after factoring in that it's a ballache getting to Baku and Azerbaijan's a complete shithole, they figured people wouldn't want to go?
