I'd sack him if he doesn't get us promoted. We wouldn't want another transfer window with him buying players who are all a bit older, less skilful and slower than the ones we have already and the less involvement he has with our young players the better.

Mid Sussex Royal We won the game without our main attacking players plus ended up with all the Jan signings bar Ward injured.

To get a win against a side in the play offs under those circumstances is pretty decent.

You must of missed the first 89 minutes

Just like Marriott was papering over the cracks before.

Are you at least happy when we win?

Marriott is still papering over the cracks.

Everyone is happy when we win. When we scored those late goals everyone celebrated. However much people like you and Ian want to gaslight us, there is nothing wrong with watching these games and seeing that there are huge alarm bells.

If you think it's sustainable to play like this, and still get results, then more power to you. I hope LR does realise it isn't sustainable and he can come up with a plan about what we want to do in attack next season. It doesn't have to be perfect, it doesn't have to be "beautiful", but it has to be better than this.

I know half of you are desperate to treat everything as a loss. Leam's record is P20, W10, D5, L4. Our form is LWWDDW, and we were a biscuit from it being LWWWWW. We're now closer to the POs than we have been almost all season.

You may not like what you're seeing but it's effective and clearly sustainable because we've been sustaining it over 20 games.

Perhaps I should go trawl the Hunt out thread for all the usual customers decrying 'it's a results business' and 'anyone will be an improvement' and 'we need to win ugly'.

Bit of a stupid question, of course I am.
Along with many of us I get so frustrated by the negative tactics at home. We seem to defend deeper with each game. Absolutely no tempo to our play with constant passes back to the keeper. Think it was Doyle who hooked a pass back to JP from the half way line in the first half. As for the late comeback, why can't we start games like that instead of the slow tedious way we do?

You could. But that would of course be a trap that made one look foolish, because Richardson's record would still be P20, W9, D5, L5 and our form LWWDDL which is still absolutely fine.

As I've said before, we are all RFC fans on here and are entitled to our opinion, would just like to add with respect, not everyone on here actually attend games for one reason or another and think you personally have stated that you watch the games on tv/stream or whatever, forgive me if I'm mistaking. For those of us who turn up every home game and in some cases away games as well, it's a bloody chore with the issues of travel, expense, time, shit weather etc with the awful football on offer at the moment so they are probably, rightly so as they have paid their money, the most critical.

If watching Reading is bringing your mood down, giving you no enjoyment and making life so unbearable have you thought of doing something else instead?

This isn’t aimed at you but in general to those who seem depressed one or twice a week.

Thousands have already and thousands more of us will next season, especially if it doesn't improve in the next two months.

Perhaps you and Ian can start going to a few more games to make up for it as you seen to enjoy his football.

But if going to watch Reading of late (whether paying per game or having a season ticket) is such a chore, giving up precious free time, cost of travel, bad weather etc why go?

I have, and I am.

I have a season ticket but have skipped the last two home games as it simply is not an enjoyable way to spend some time. Door to door, a home game takes about 6 hours. It's simply not worth it for two or three efforts on goal in a game, even if two of them go in.

I've been a regular fan for 50+ years and a season ticket holder for 30+. I doubt i'm alone in thinking I won't be renewing next year if nothing changes

I’ve been as frustrated watching us at times as anyone but LR has undoubtedly done superbly results wise. He’s found some kind of method which is working - maybe he should get some credit for Marriott scoring so many this year? And when he doesn’t play we still find ways to score

Ward looks and excellent signing and that defence is starting to look a lot better and that’s always a good starting point. Nice on the stats yesterday we matched a promotion chasing team in nearly everything and dominated in the air: that’s the sort of thing that WILL win us games at this level

I can see us going through the gears at some point - hopefully next few weeks and kicking on. Need to get Keane and Young or DK back asap if Marriott is out and then I’m pretty confident.

Absolutely commend those making effort, often at great time and money expense to go.

And of course, everyone has a right to voice their opinion. And we all voice rather more emotional and extreme opinions during and immediately after the game. But we all also have a right to challenge each other's opinions, we don’t have a right to our opinions going unchallenged. And there's an awful lot of over reaction and toxic negativity that simply isn't justified.

Take Jackson's Corner as an example poster, I can’t recall seeing a single positive take from him in over a decade. Sutekh reveals in negativity. Orion and traff are the sort of people giving unnecessary and unfair abuse to Paddy Lane that triggered his celebration.

You're welcome to your view and I'll continue to champion what I see as some realism and positivity. Becauseat the end of the day, positivity makes the place better and negativity makes it worse.

So you don't enjoy it either. Assume you're still turning up for games.

Didn't say it made my life unbearable, what a stupid comment. Been supporting Reading FC for over 50 years, think I'm entitled to a bit of criticism now and again, paid enough money over the years.
Real fans continue to go through thick and thin, doesn't mean they can't complain now and again though, it's not as if I can go and support anyone else.

This 100%. However I dont want LR out. I think what we're seeing isn't what he really wants from his team. I mean, it can't be, surely.
