It's surprising that Lawrence Shankland is not always a starter for Scotland when he is such a good finisher as witnessed by his winner v Rangers.

What a difference it could make to the finances for Hearts if they just qualify for the Champions league, meaning that Celtic won't get their normal annual financial advantage.
That money, combined with backing from Tony Bloom, could see the club set fair for a few years and challenge the supremacy of the Old Firm.

Shankland has never been consistent enough and Clarke prefers players like Che Adams and Lyndon Dykes who work hard.

When Shankland isn't scoring, he's often anonymous.

wasn't he given chances for the national team and on quite a few occasions just failed to do much of anything?

He made his debut as a Championship player so there's some mitigation there but he's only been a starter when others have been injured.

Che Adams has a marginally better gpg record internationally than Shankland but, although Shankland is the better finisher, Adams has the better all round game. Also, add into the mix John McGinn and Scot McTominay in midfield who both have a better gpg rate than either of them.

Hearts were dog shit tonight, I fear Celtic will do them on the last day and clinch the title again.

Would be funny as hell, if Hearts win on Weds and Celtic somehow lose, handing Hearts the title - but yes the SFA look set to get the finish to the season they want - a title decider with Celtic probably winning it.

They played away to both Rangers and Hearts twice during the regular season. All it's doing is evening it up to 2 at home, 2 away over the 38 games so get out of here with your conspiracy bullshit.

All 3 will have played 19 at home, 19 away.

I know Wolfsburg have just got relegated to Bundesliga 2 but if I was Danny Rohl and they came calling, I'd be on the first plane back to Germany.

The Rangers job is a poisoned chalice, even with new ownership.

Whilst I agree with the general point, Wolfsburg haven't been relegated yet.

They are currently in the relegation play-off spot ahead of Heidenheim and St Pauli - all 3 are on 26pts going in to the final round of games.

In one of those wonderful quirks that football loves to throw up - St Pauli host Wolfsburg on Saturday

You are of course, correct, I've played the Bundesliga enough times on FM that I should know that it's 2 down plus a playoff, not 3 down.

That is pretty much it in a nutshell. They could have got McInnes when Clement was sacked, ex player and all. They'd give anything to be in his position right now.

Even with new owners, their transfer business is shit. Sold their best 2 players in the summer and bought half a squad for a nett spend of £15m. Rangers seem to buy bad and sell worse.

Celtic, who to be honest, aren't run much better, sold their best player in the summer and bought half a squad for a nett profit if £15m. They made a £16m profit on Kuhn in 18 months.
