An embarrassing amount of seats in the North East and West corners, and under half of the South stand half we have is empty, as is the upper tier South West corner.

To be fair, going to watch Reading in the play-offs is a bit like stopping on the hard shoulder to take a look at an accident on the other carriageway.

How long did it take you to think that up?

Surely not still bitter about me pointing out that your own little quip about 2 out of 3 away games to get to the final was, in fact, absolute mince?



Duly noted that the official site haven't for once been trumpeting on about how many tickets sold for the away leg from a potential allocaton of 3,000 so one can only assume that we haven't even sold the initital 1,900!

Previous play-off trips to Tranmere, Wigan and Wolves saw huge followings. Does this disappointing turn-out show that perhaps the Reading public have lost faith in this team and management at last? Personally, I am very much IN for the first leg of the last rights .

I think the main thing is that Burnley is much more off the beaten track then the other places. It's not easy to get to from anywhere.

If we were in Preston or Sheffield we would have much more people there.

Behave. It'll be cracking for about 2 minutes until the old codgers who follow Reading tell anyone making any noise to "si dahhhhhhhn". And the old it's not easy to get to line again, the perennial favourite of the Reading supporter ; it's in Lancashire, not Laos!

The only pathetic fans are those who moan when people are not willing to sacrifice their whole week-end just to go and watch the football, especially when costs of going will be up to £200 when you consider travel, food, etc and its on TV. Going to the home leg is costly enough, as will Wemberley if we get there.

FWIW I can't go because in Leeds for my Grand-parents 50th anniversary, and given that one of them had a stroke a couple of months ago, perhaps that is more important.

But I'll be watching the game on the box, as anxious, nervous, and terrified as any of those who go to the game.

Firstly, why have the club bothered to put final ticket details on the websire before the first leg of the semi? But secondly - HAVE YOU SEEN THE PRICES? Only the very back of the top tier for less than £50. Poor Burnley.

Absolutely not, I'm more than happy to agree that the comment I posted was rubbish. I did so in the thread later on. It's just a shame you were already rubbishing a game before you got to it. Your assesment after was much more readable and relevant.

I'd think there are two reasons for this. Firstly, a lot of people expect it to be another dire home performance, and so aren't going - but apart from that people have seen the prices for Wembley tickets - serious money, especially if you have a family to take - and they're saving their money.

IIRC this is the kind of time when there are GCSEs and SATs going on and if the game does go to extra time and penalties then it isn't good preparation for the day after. Whilst I accept a lot of people wont have this issue, it does affect some. I think the added cost of the game aswell wont help matters. 100 quid plus on top of season ticket renewals, other matches in the season, time of the month since payday and also the potential of possibly high Wembley ticket costs does add up quite highly.
