Celtic have a nett transfer spend of 2.5m this season having make significant profits in the transfer market in each of the past 4 seasons.

If you want the league to be more competitive then I really think the onus is more on Rangers to not be so shit. In recent years, they've been the absolute masters of buying badly and selling at a loss

But they have had the dough to buy those players in the first place from money achieved by their regular appearances in the Champions League.
Rangers have not bought well but they are shopping at Asda rather than at Waitrose.

It will be interesting to see how Maeda gets on in our Premier League as he has been quite a finisher in Scottish football and Celtic's latest spend of £11 million has certainly hit the ground running this season.
Past buys of Engels for £11 million and Idah for £9.5 million have been less successful but Jota for £12 million and Edouard for £9 million did ok.

Incidentally Celtic's latest turnover was £143 million compared to Rangers' £94 million.
Also apparently over the past 10 years Celtic have earned £250 million more than Rangers.

If only Hearts hadn't been cheated out of the title last season by a very questionable refereeing decision.

Apart from 2022 when they sold Ivan Bassey for £23m, they have had a nett spend every season since 2017, £54m in total compared to Celtic's nett profit of £48m over the same period.

Celtic sold Tierney for £25m then resigned him on a free.

I don't want to turn this into an Old Firm arguement but clearly one club is a lot smarter in the transfer market than the other.
