Bring back the prem music.

I quite liked the vid at the start... not as good as the prem one though.

I quite liked the video as well, but would prefer the Lux Aeterna music to go with it!

As for the goal music, when we scored everyone was shouting and jumping up and down (as we all used to!), the music started and everyone stopped and was asking "What's this?" and "What's happened to the darts music?"!

Just carry on shouting and jumping up and down...ignore the music!

And get approximately 14,000 different suggestions? How on earth would they get a consensus from that?

And you could be certain that people would be far unhappier with a song that wasn't their choice when they'd asked what they wanted than if a song is just decided upon.

Certainly are, but when you have a choice of any more than two options it's extremely likely that the "winner" will have more people voting against it than actually voted for it. That means it will not be accepted as a legitimate or moral "winner" by the majority of people.

What's the actual benefit to be gained from that?

Especially when we're talking about what 10-second music clip of music is played after goals - one of most trivial and unimportant things going. I personally believe that absolutely no-one who goes to a match goes/doesn't go because of the music played, that the majority of people over the age of 12 don't actually want anything played, and I'm always amazed when anyone over that age gets so exercised about it. Sense of proportion, anyone?

So no, I can't see that it's worth anyone's time or expense to organise a survey where any winner would be largely discreditied and would almost certainly still be rejected and criticised by a number of people on an internet message-board.

Disagree it's trivial tbh, celebrating a goal is one of the best moments of being a football fan for many. Or at least it was until this blasted music was introduced.

Of course there are reasons for and against asking the fans, and ultimately the club is not and does not pretend to be a democracy, I just find your previous comment rubbishing the mere suggestion of consultation on this issue slightly irksome.

Sorry you feel like that, but if you or anyone else can suggest a method of supporter consultation which is both guaranteed to produce a winner that the majority will accept and proportionate in terms of time, cost and effort to the thing being decided on then I'd be happy to accept it.

But I don't think such a process exists for anything that is essentially subjective, like music, design of leisure clothing, etc, etc.

Of course I can't guarantee all of the above - doesn't mean it's not worth having a go.

Anyway as is hopefully clear by now it's more the general "fans don't know sh!t, the club knows best" attitude I dislike than the stance on this particular issue.

I can't speak for STAR - this is my own user Id and all opinions posted via it are my own opinions.

As to the last paragraph, I think it's much more a view that "we could spend a lot of time and money that we don't have, but if we did we'd almost certainly end up with an end result that a few people on hobnob would still dislike and post against."

Music (and clothing) is subjective - whatever is chosen some people won't like it. That is a simple fact! Why spend time and money trying to prove it?

Don't think anyone is suggesting we come up with music that 100% of people like. Whilst people will always moan, to just shrug your shoulders and say that's life seems so very defeatist to me.

So if I can come up with a campaign that will cost nothing, guarantee to please no less than 100% of people, and be easy to implement, then you'd take it on, but anything else is dismissed out of hand? That's simply ridiculous. There is a middle ground you know.

And again it's the wider principle than this one issue that grates.
