Yes. I would certainly try and stop a group of thugs secure in the knowledge that when it all kicked off my fellow fans would back me up. And the police wouldn't arrest me for inciting a riot....

I suggest boxing in the cisterns and pipes and asking for a £2 premium on ticket sales next season to pay for damage. Let's face it the pipes and cisterns will not cost a lot to repair. The floors are not going to me damaged and 20 seats will be cheap. The more fans they bring the more profit for RFC [even after allowing for damage].

Perhaps we should not have served alcohol to them. I'm sure I've been to an away match in the last couple of years where they did not serve alcohol - can't remember for the life of me where it was though.

So, if alcohol isn't the problem, why do these clubs not sell alcohol to away fans?

And, I did say in my original post that no doubt they would have done this damage anyway - but at least attempting to minimise it would be a start.

Next year, if they are in the same division, police the toilets and only allow 2-3 fans in at a time. Put a massive sign by the entrance explain that this action is being take as a result of Cardiff fans previous behavior.

If legal, I would also calculate the cost of repair and surcharge Cardiff's tickets for next time, again, with an explanation of why.

Man Utd fans bleat weekly about being punished for completely ignoring regulations at every away game. Simply make the sanctions worse and worse, and the allocations lower and lower, until they actually listen and collectively take some responsibility for their treatment.

Stoke fans years ago moaned about being in the Fosters Stand but unable to buy a pint.

As for Cardiff I thought they were subdued compared to previous visits. Its not just a minority of Cardiff supporters who do this most other clubs have this issue when they have a large following at a 'local' away game. Cardiff have done a great deal in recent years to eradicate their problems of the past but they will never completely go away as there is always a younger element who are influenced by others to carry on causing damage just the same as any other club.

I actually agree with this - I think there's a certain amount of "treat us like hooligans and we'll act like them" going on.

I also think when stewards and police are decent and not confrontational this stops a lot of the trouble too. The jobsworth ones make trouble.

Apparently the problem stemmed from the fact that there were about 50 people in the loos having a smoke and the stewards stayed well clear.
