And this year, with the super rich AZ, we spent.. oh.. £5M.
Oh dear! That's quite a conundrum.
so im not sure how youve come up with that figure, apart from by making it up
Emerse Fae £2.5M
Greg Halford £2.25M
Seol Ki-Hyeon £1.5M
Andre Bikey £1M
Sam Sodje £350K
Total £7.6M
This year we spent only £5M on transfer fees.
It turns out that last time WE SPENT 52% MORE on transfer fees.
So all you airheads who complained about JM's perceived lack of ambition can eat it, and all you buffoons who are now saying that "AZ is full of ambition" (mostly the same people) can STICK IT where the sun don't shine.
AZ/TSI gravy train? I DON'T THINK SO.

A couple of old timers might be what we need. some experienced heads. They may not have played much but offered more advice and support than i'd imagine Simon Church

We cannot spend any more until January.
You are a fcuking moron.

No. You just took that the wrong way. The OP asks what AZ does. Who knows?! What does SJM do? (not in a 'what did he achieve' sense). The OP ignores or doesn't understand what SJM did/does as a Chairman. Just because you don't hear from the owner on a daily or weekly basis doesn't mean he's not doing anything for us behind the scenes. Just because Anton doesn't get in front of a camera at every opportunity doesn't mean he's not interested. To simplify it, he is the money, and the ideas. SJM is the Chairman and does whatever a Chairman does, but perhaps slightly less so, as he lends his experience to the young new owner who will ultimately take on the role of Chairman, or perhaps bring one in later, if he can't dedicate enough time to the role. The Real Sandhurst Royal wrote:Only been a Reading fan for a short time Sparta making comments like this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Sparta wrote: What did SJM actually do?
John Madejski loaned us money many times over, and we were (possibly still are) paying him back each year. In fact it was revealed some or all of those loans were interest based, whereas we thought they were interest free. There is nothing abnormal about an owner loaning money to a club and wanting it back. Roman Abramovich has loaned his money to the club and expects a % of it back as well. Very few clubs are owned by a sugar daddy - Man City appear to be the only Premier League club with that set-up currently.Royal Lady wrote:You do all remember that TSI LOANED RFC the money for Roberts ? I'm not sure t was a simple as that. It would have been repaid over a number of years if the takeover hadn't been successful.Royal Lady wrote:You do all remember that TSI LOANED RFC the money for Roberts ?
