It depends what time you finish work. Not everyone finishes at 5pm. I'm on a day off that day, so I could probably drive there in 1hr 19 minutes if I left home about 4ish in Bracknell.GH Royal wrote:Notice I said 'around', but I'll bite..LWJ wrote:1h 19 minute drive ground to ground.GH Royal wrote:Although the ticket pricing is fantastic, 2000 for a midweek game that's around a 2 hr drive in rush hour straight from work.. Let's say you finish work at 5pm, do you think that it would still take 1 hr 19 minutes to drive ground to ground? If you do then you either;
a. Don't drive so wouldn't know.
b. Drive a motorbike.
c. Are extremely optimistic.
Am I close?
If you see my original post it was more in reference to the fact it's a midweek game so a lot of fans will be coming straight from work, and I was using 5pm as an example as a common finishing time.bobby1413 wrote:GH Royal wrote:Although the ticket pricing is fantastic, 2000 for a midweek game that's around a 2 hr drive in rush hour straight from work.. I will probably do it in less time as I usually undertake, go well over the speed limit and where possible go through red lights and stop signs. Will aim to do the drive in 45 minutes.
Or d) your head is in the sand and you're an ostrichGH Royal wrote:Notice I said 'around', but I'll bite..LWJ wrote:1h 19 minute drive ground to ground.GH Royal wrote:Although the ticket pricing is fantastic, 2000 for a midweek game that's around a 2 hr drive in rush hour straight from work.. You're right. I drive that route everyday to work and although the traffic is going the other way when I commute back home, it's normally solid and you won't be doing more than 60, if that. The M27 is a busy, busy road.GH Royal wrote:Notice I said 'around', but I'll bite..LWJ wrote:1h 19 minute drive ground to ground.GH Royal wrote:Although the ticket pricing is fantastic, 2000 for a midweek game that's around a 2 hr drive in rush hour straight from work.. Not really. If you were to do something like that, your best bet would be to park in Cosham, which is a bit closer to Portsmouth. Mr. Cynical has outlined some good parking options near the ground.Winchester Royal wrote:Any value to parking somewhere like Porchester or Havant and getting the train in for the last bit?
Or d) you have a good understanding with your boss who won't make you take a day off, or work the extra hours and can leave at 4.GH Royal wrote:Notice I said 'around', but I'll bite..LWJ wrote:1h 19 minute drive ground to ground.GH Royal wrote:Although the ticket pricing is fantastic, 2000 for a midweek game that's around a 2 hr drive in rush hour straight from work.. Thanks, I'll be leaving Wokingham at about 5pm so hoping that will be sufficient to get down in time.Mr.Swainey wrote:Not really.
