isn't it almost exactly the same as the interview that brian gave just before we signed rakels?^^CW - We’ve come into January and Reading have sold the two players who started the month as the club’s top goalscorers. Yann has come in - are we expecting to see another striker arrive?
BM - We’re in talks at this moment in time with another striker so we shall see what happens with that.
Is that Deniss Rakels?
Could be.
From what I understand he could be unveiled today?
That’s a possibility.
Is he someone that you scouted on one of your many trips?
No, this has come from the scouts of the owners. I know the player now. We have Wyscout here where you can watch the player. He works his socks off, he’s got a good record of scoring in Poland this season.
I spoke to Kaspars Gorkss about him, the Latvian captain, he gave me a good insight into him. So if the deal is done then great - he will come into our squad.

If we're playing 4-3-3 Quinn's not really suited to the left forward slot. Left midfield in 4-4-2, certainly. Mendes, Samuel and Rakels to fit in somewhere too... they can't all be competing for the same central forward slot as Kermorgant, surely.royalp-we wrote:LM: Fosu, Quinn, Swift(?)Broxroyal wrote:I'm hoping this bloke can play down the left because that's what we need. RM: Barratt, GMac, Beerens(?)
Balances it up nicely. Although announcing Ola John, Swift and Beerens would be fantastic.

I've got to agree with you there. Inevitably over the 46+ games Stam will need to switch the formation from the 4-3-3 he plans. I'd expect more of a 4-5-1 on the road in some games, where it really will be one man on his own up top and no RF/LF which would be his plan for the majority you'd assume. With all the Central options we have, with wide men coming in, you expect this to be the case. Simply 4-3-3 in attack pushing the wingers up and 4-5-1 when their up and at us. I think that's the beauty of that formation.Ian Royal wrote:If we're playing 4-3-3 Quinn's not really suited to the left forward slot. Left midfield in 4-4-2, certainly. You don't know anything about him other than what you've read or seen on Football Manager, so stop pretending to be some kind of European football deity.SCIAG wrote:I've seen Beerens play a few times on TV but not for a few years. Little surprised to see him joining us. I'd compare him to McAnuff. Capable on both flanks and fairly conservative but a proper winger nonetheless.
Never heard of him :/tidus_mi2 wrote:Thought we were done with Dutch players!
Does look interesting though, his stats are promising.
*joeydeaconspazzmouth*Typical lack of communication coming out of the club
