They do a great cider too - their own brand...WoodleyRoyal wrote:Dickens bar in the town centre is also good for sport if you prefer a more intimate setting
Was going to ask about this place. they show sky sport, but its the old Wynford arms building, for want of a better word does it cater for normal customers now?Silver Fox wrote:Thirsty Bear would of been my go to venue if we were on at Sunday lunchtime, pack it out and they'll have the sound on for sure
Was in Walkabout for the Joshua Klitschko fight - was absolute mad. Mental scenes and great atmosphere.Readingfanman wrote:Walkabout with the big screen is a pretty good idea, normally dead in there at that time as well unless the football is on.
I can vouch for that.percy_freeman wrote:My missus loves a Dickens cider!
It's a pizza bar showing football. Wtf are normal customers? Booked a table this evening, tables available.windermereROYAL wrote:Was going to ask about this place. they show sky sport, but its the old Wynford arms building, for want of a better word does it cater for normal customers now?Silver Fox wrote:Thirsty Bear would of been my go to venue if we were on at Sunday lunchtime, pack it out and they'll have the sound on for sure
This is true. I went to an old firm game there with Berkshire Rangers who had flags and everything on that upstairs terrace. Can't say about the atmosphere cos they got spanked lolCountryRoyal wrote:Was in Walkabout for the Joshua Klitschko fight - was absolute mad. Are we all sure the Walkabout will be showing the Reading game on the big screen? It's just the sort of things those c*nts would do - show the Arsenal game instead whilst we get relegated to a tiny screen with no sound.
I would definitely sling a full pint glass in anger at the screen if they choose to put 4rsenal on instead of the home town team in a much more important game.La Flama Blanca wrote:Yep, it's listed on Walkabout's website. Besides if it's not on the big screen upstairs then we'll just get them to put it on the big screen upstairs.
Count me in with you on this. I will also throw my GF's white wine spritzer and nut the bar manager.John Smith wrote: I would definitely sling a full pint glass in anger at the screen if they choose to put 4rsenal on instead of the home town team in a much more important game.
