Good on Steve Bruce. What there is little doubt about is that he is a good and genuine man who has done his level best at Newcastle. He's had some good managerial spells, and some bad ones. Is what it is. 1000 games is a phenomenal achievement, and I hope the Newcastle fans can find a way to mark it with some level of appreciation.

Who needs a takeover when you have Jonjo Shelvey and Jeff Hendricks as a midfield Used to like Shelvey - even thought he was close to warranting an England call up a few years ago but he’s so far off the pace now

Bruce has made them more entertaining to watch this year (not particularly hard granted) but it’s come at a cost of leaking goals left right and centre which has pretty much made his role untenable
