Wtf?! I didn't even know about that. I don't know why they screw about with this type of stuff. It works well as it is now. Otherwise it's now just more games and just waters it down IMO

I quite like Derby and their record with the playoff places seems so cursed. Another year narrowly missing out. Also very pleased Wrexham didn't make it. Sadly I think it's a matter of time before they force their way up to the premier league

It’ll be like many non league systems eventually, so you’ll get 2 auto promotion spots then the play offs involving 6 teams with winners of 5th v 8th and 6th v 7th moving forward to play 4th and 3rd respectively and the winners of that round playing each other to bag promotion.

While it extends the season interest for many clubs I think it’s starting to get ridiculous as how much longer before they decide to extend it further still and start getting into “what’s the point in actually having a league in the first place” territory.

This is even more alarming when there may well be considerable points gaps between 3rd & 8th.

That's perfectly normal until you realise that Clyde groundshare at Hamilton Academicals' New Douglas Park and Hamilton Academicals groundshare at Clyde's Broadwood Stadium.

So this means both club's home leg will be in fact at the other club's home ground!

Reading the comments it seems that Clyde were evicted after their lease wasn't renewed and Hamilton left following a lease dispute with their owners. Hamilton seemingly due to return to their ground next season.

Yep - came across this a week or so ago - just another symptom of the complete financial oxf*rd that is Scottish football. Outwith of the top four or five clubs, it's a completely hand-to-mouth existence made worse by countless shysters trying to cash in on clubs that have nothing cash inable. Separate ownership of the ground and the team, as so many have done, leads to stuff like this.

Although in the case of Clyde, it's an odd one. They've been pretty much homeless since 1986 when Shawfield chucked them out to concentrate on greyhounds racing, They played at Broadwood in Cumbernauld for years, but their lease wasn't renewed when by the local council (who own Broadwood) when they persisted in signing convicted rapist David Goodwillie (even after being warned that would be the outcome!)

It seems the closer to Glasgow you get, the worse the oxf*rd becomes...

Agree it's a shame that Millwall didn't go up. I'd love to see them in the Premier League or at least at Wembley for another riot like they had last time.

The Championship playoffs so far have been appalling in terms of entertainment.

Rochdale equalised in the 97th minute to force extra time (2-2) against Boreham Wood and then won the penalty shoot out 3-1 to earn promotion back to Football League on Sunday. Feels like justice given how dominant them and York were in the National League this season.

It rarely works out that way but good to see.
The 2 automatic promotions can't be far off with a play-off for the 3rd spot as often the clubs in contention are as big as , or even bigger than, many in Div 2.

Dropping down to the Conference does seem to lead to many clubs re-inventing themselves and coming back stronger (see Oxford, Wrexham, Lincoln, Notts County, Oldham etc.

For once the sarcasm of fans dressing up in camo costumes last night was quite funny
Thought Saints played well and either Boro were shit or Saints were a different level to them in regards speed and fitness
Manning is a quality player for dropping the ball exactly where your forwards want it and didn't realise just how much Saints had relied on set pieces this season
Luke Ayling on the other hand is a wind up merchant of the highest quality

Lots of talk about the possibility of a third game if the spying fiasco gets that far

‘Boro were brilliant for the 1st half of the season then their form fell off a cliff. Soton were the reverse, off the mark under Still but the managerial change to their u21 coach Tonda Eckert around Xmas launched their season.
