Newport County (A) Tuesday 28 July & Crawley Town (A) Friday 31 July both announced.

Imagine it will be a fairly young team going to Crawley with the Charlton game on the 1st.

With the new season fast approaching, Reading will be selecting from and taking a full squad of first-team players to both the Crawley away game and the final pre-season match against Charlton Athletic at the Select Car Leasing Stadium on Saturday 1 August.

The gaffer is on a retched run of form with the majority of the fanbase against him! I'm pretty sure they've lined up winnable friendlies so as to try and stop the rot and early toxicity against the gaffer!! Either that or it's just in keeping with the general malise within the club at present.

Also, friendlies are primarily about building up fitness and team cohesion. The friendlies we have a very appropriate for that and we're building up the quality of opposition the closer we get to the league season.
