Confirmed by Ronaldo himself. After the goal against Pompey he said he had simply learnt a technique for hitting it that made it swerve a lot, he said he didn't know where it would go after leaving his foot.

Fair play to him for it, give you this ball then make the most of it, it looks absolutely brilliant but to me it's a bit false. The keeper goes the way the ball is going, it swerves all over the place and he's got ZERO chance of saving it if it's on target, it's not fair imo. Ronaldo is a tremendous player, absolutely sensational and his record this season is phenomenal but these free kicks just grate with me! Keepers union!

If it was so easy then every free kick taker would be doing the same, the facts are that he is the best by a street and the only one that can make the ball move so much in the air.

That challenge was horrible, far worse than Taylor's tackle. If that had been Taylor/Hunt/insert small club scapegoat then FIFA would be calling for a year's ban, but because it's big club Cole there'll be no fuss about it at all. And to complain about getting a yellow card!!

Think AP is being a bit extreme but he's still one of the scummier people on the planet and symptomatic of the Premiership, one of the consolations if we do get relegated is that we won't be in a league with this graceless, arrogant, mercenary culture.

I can't believe the reaction to the Cole 'tackle'.

Whilst it was poor it was far from the worst we've seen this season - had it been Hutton's standing leg serious damage would have been done. But it wasn't and the referee dealt with it.

Cole's reaction to the booking, however, was shocking. If Riley had any plums he'd have immediately shown him a second yellow for dissent.

I hope the FA charge Chelsea for failing to control their players - the way they reacted after the tackle was disgraceful. Riley hadn't even spoken to Ashley Cole yet there they all were surroundinng Riley prrotesting about something - I assume they feared that the card would be red so they were getting in there first before Riley had chance to show it.

I also hope the FA charge Cole for bringing the game into disrepute for turning his back on Riley. Riley might have dealt with the tackle but he didn't deal with the dissent.

I wonder how many kids will now be copying Cole and turning their backs to the ref on the parks this weekend?

I think this the the crux of why hopefully Cashley will get a ban - the FA are currently running some sort of "respect the ref" campaign so this would be an extremely easy way of making an example of what happens when you abuse the official. Had he received a second yeelow for his outburst than he would only have received the mandatory one match ban but there's now scope for him to get 3 games.

Had it been any manager from 5th place down, they'd be on a disrepute charge.

The irony in supporters of small clubs only looking at decisions that go against small clubs and then moaning about how refs are biased, despite the obvious biased views that the supporter has!

Classic example is that Spurs goal at OT, Spurs should have won the said. Yet they say nothing about the foul that should have been a United pen before hand.

These decisions even themselves out, shame the blinkered can’t see that.
