There was something ridiculous like 70% of the transfer fees from their last five seasons of transfers still outstanding for payment due to how they were structured. Milner wanted parity with Duff and Barton, the club said no so he handed in a transfer request which Villa met. Wise is doing as he is told, Keegan was stupid for thinking it would be anything other than this scenario
Oh. I thought he was the 'Newcastle' fan that was linked to buying them a good few years ago but it didn't happen, then obviously he came in and bought them, but not so it seems.Stranded wrote:I'm pretty sure Ashley isn't a Newcastle fan.

Lets face it...the Newcaslte fans won't be happy until Shearer is in charge.ElmParker wrote:I guess it's Shearer's ship now, his command. He's in charge, he's the boss, head man, top dog, big cheese.

Thing is Shearer will probably never take the job as he knows that if he f**ked it up he would lose his legend status up there...because as we all know...Newcastle are a top 4 club with the best fans in the world (until Ireland play in the world cup, then they are suddenly the best fans in the world...), a sleeping giant and a club that is owed success because some fat geordies say so.
Very doubtful, if anything it will strengthen his contract negotiations with Everton. My money would be on a foreign manager, maybe Bilic if West Ham keep hold of Curbishley or either of Advocaat or Hiddink if they can be prised awaypaultheroyal wrote:Step forward - David Moyes
