They do but this year the Carling Cup was taken out of this so only FA Cup and Champions League tickets were compulsory. So the tickets bought last night were done on a voluntary basis. Apparently Blackburn had about 300 so a decent turn out. Not sure where all the Mancs were last night though, UEFA Cup at Eastlands, reduced prices and only 25,000 there – PSG took a fair few thousand also and kicked off a bit in the ground.

Thats true but why was a UEFA cup game played on a Wednesday - it never normally is!!?

City have an early kick off on Saturday, be a bit harsh making them play Thursday night also! Not sure when PSG but they were played together due to fixture congestion.

IIRC, a fair few UEFA Cup games in recent seasons have been moved to the Wednesday night - not too sure when this "precedent" started though...

Probably not an issue, with 20,000 Citeh fans disappearing in to Moss Side and 5,000 Manure fans going back to Ancoats, with the rest heading back down the M6 to Surrey...

That would have been an issue, seeing as Ancoats is so close to the City Stadium. However, as it's only soft southern pansie like papereyes who live in Ancoats, that won't have been a problem.

It's great. The food used to be good too, not sure with the new chef but it should still be good. The Angel is supposedly a much better pub than its previous incarnation. Crown & Kettle is a good Sunday afternoon pub. The Fringe is my spiritual home.
