How can we make a good match day buzz at the Mad stad?

Knowing full well that is where the singing happens. The man can't be that daft, if I had a problem getting up and never got involved I would give moving stands serious consideration..

The problem is not the fans, I think it's the location of the stadium. Imagine the stadium was where the train station was in town. You'd have everything in the centre, whether people were going to the match or not. They'd be a larger population in the area, lots more activity and buzz about the place.

As others have said, the only way around this (apart from knocking the train station down and moving the stadium there) is to build more infrastructure around the ground.

Amazingly enough, he did a bit of shouting and actually got up (eventually) to join in with the goal dance for a bit last night.

I guess he sits in the same seat because he's sitting with all his mates. I get the feeling these are friends he's made from going to the matches and not from outside football. Would you seriously tell him to go and sit somewhere else?

The atmosphere created by the home and away fans in the corner where the scoreboard is should be considered! I've often thought when we have the big crowds more of an advantage would be gained if Reading fans were housed in the east side of the south stand rather than the west! That corner seems to sound great between home and away fans! Obviously not in the championship as we dont have big enough crowds! I remember going to derby when they had just come down from the prem and there fans we housed in a similar way and they had a great atmosphere!

I think it would be quality if we had the east side of the south stand as well as the east stand. Then that whole corner would get intense and loud and people that wanna sing could always get a seat in the good atmos area (something I struggle to do with monotonous regularity). I just feel we are consistently let down by the club, it's as if they believe it is entirely their plaything to do with as they wish and they seem to forget that football is a FAN's game ffs. Why do they continue to make the matchday 'experience' so bloody difficult.

Even if we end up in the Prem, we still had the west side of the south stand. It was only full on cup games that the whole of the south stand is allocated as an away stand. I'm pretty sure that due to the sheet glass of the corporate area being a potential risk, this is isolated away from the away section. It's also always down to FA ticket allocation (percentage of capacity) IIRC.

IIRC, the South Stand isn't divided into two equal halves and the West side of the stand isn't large enough to accomodate the minimum percentage of the ground we have to offer the away team.

I could be wrong, but it's something that's stuck in my mind from a similar query a couple of years ago.
