Yesterday afternoon Reading Buses boss James Freeman told the Post discussions had started with the club surrounding who would cover the £4,000-plus cost for the damage.

Why don't they take it out of the ton of money they've made out of us since they started doing these shuttle services?

To be fair to the police, I think they earnt their money Saturday. Made a rare excursion by train, walked out of the station carrying a half finished can of lager, and before I'd gone 5 steps a yellow jacketed arm reached across, snatched it off me saying 'sorry, no drinking area'. By the time he finished writing that up, the game was probably finished ..................
