i did not stay for the "lap of honour" as there was no lap of honour planned.

the club said the buses would leave at the normal time (10 minutes after teh final whistle) unless we were promoted

had a lap of honour been planned then they buses would have been held longer even if we were not promoted

I was in my seat in the East a good 45 minutes before kick off and I didn't hear any announcement about a lap of honour. Nor do I buy a programme. I'm pretty sure if one had been planned, Mr Back The Boys would have mentioned it just prior to kick off. And surely the club realised that if Brum went up they'd be celebrating and a lap of honour by our players would be severely muted.

They had to come out to prevent the club discriminating against those that cannot afford to buy playoff tickets. I'm sure a lot of those leaving early were actually leaving to put in some overtime to help buy them.

On that note, do the players get paid extra for turning up for the playoffs? If not, why do we have to pay over cost for the privilege?

No, if there had been I'd have quoted it.....

Not sure of the point here. Holding the buses for 30 mins wouldn't have allowed a promotion celebration. The buses carry a very small proportion of the crowd anyway. Leaving after the game to get a bus seems fair enough, leaving with 10 mins to go was very bad news and I can't believe everyone had a 500 mile drive or a sick budgie who just attended to. Freedom of choice and all that, but it's still very sad to see people with so little interest that they can't be bothered to watch an entire game.

I didnt think having a programme was an essential part of supporting the club and I certainly had no idea a lap of honour was planned. Personally I think its a joke that they would have teh bare faced cheek to organise one anyway!

I'm in agreement with you re the LOH, but was merely providing evidence that one WAS planned. It's hard to see any circumstances in which one would actually have taken place - promotion would have been like 05-06 with everyone on the pitch. Trying to plan for one seems pointless, but nonetheless one was planned...

I would have said that a 'lap of honour' would be to applaud the fans for their support at this time. That's why I feel a bit let down that all they did was mope about in the middle of the pitch. We have the chance of going to Wembley for heaven's sake!
