Coming along and saying Coppell has had more success than Rodgers is like saying Evolution is more scientifically accurate than Creationism.



Of course he has, he's been a manager for such a long time as well. But he's also has a fair amount of failure too.

Is relegation promotion from the prem such a shining star that it blinds his failures? I don't think so. Coppell is a resourceful manager good at getting the best out of limited players, that's his schtick, but he's nothing special. He certainly can't work with ego's, which is why he's never made it at the top.

There is no way to judge Coppells achievements against Rodgers now, or even set odds as to whether Rodgers will be able to match those achievements.

I reiterate, Rodgers may turn out to be good but as of now, he's done nothing. Given a choice between Coppell's record of unique achievement and that, the decision is, much like Royalee, a no brainer.

I've not worked it out after the latest round of ins and outs, but before we got Mills, but after Doyle went, it was around £7m.

To compare two years of 'blip' achievement out of six to one of the greatest managers ever is testament to how stupid you must be.

What you are basically saying is that Coppell was in a position to make a 'unique achievement' so no matter where others start from and what they achieve, if they do not immediately attain the same standard as 8th in the Prem then they are not as good. It's a bit like saying someone who takes Rochdale from League 2 to 13th in the Championship isn't as good as Neil Warnock if he gets Palace to finish in the top half.

It's all well and good for you to throw your insults around, but you are the one who set where we were when Coppell joined compared to where we were when he left as a paramenter by which to measure his success. Yet when I apply that to another manager to demonstrate how flawed that measure is, suddenly, you don't think that it's a valid measure any more.
