Jackie was with the club at Elm Park, Sara has been around as long as I can remember as well. There are plenty at the club who have been there since the EP days.Clockwatcher wrote:Jackie Evans (the dark haired , shorter young 'compared to me' lady in the picture) has been at the club for at least ten years to my knowledge.
In the back office these girls do a really good job and well deserve their moment of glory.
I think your memory is failing you then. We were in the Megastore a few years back and she came up and introduced herself to us as being new. I took it to mean that she had newly joined RFC not that she had got a new job.Sun Tzu wrote:Jackie was with the club at Elm Park, Sara has been around as long as I can remember as well. .Clockwatcher wrote:Jackie Evans (the dark haired , shorter young 'compared to me' lady in the picture) has been at the club for at least ten years to my knowledge.

I'm not going to get into a pissing contest with you !RoyalBlue wrote:I think your memory is failing you then. Of course you're not going to get into a pissing contest when you know you are going to lose! You can remember back to Elm Park when it comes to Jackie Evans, which when you then say Sara has been around as long as you remember very strongly implies that you (wrongly) thought she was around at Elm Park too! I'm not sure how flattered she would be when you consider how old that would make her. I'm also very surprised that an expert on RFC and one with so many contacts and inside sources would get this wrong. Still maybe one of those sources will now settle the debate for us by letting you know when she actually joined!Sun Tzu wrote:I'm not going to get into a pissing contest with you !RoyalBlue wrote:I think your memory is failing you then. I could bow to your memory being better than mine and concede that she's been at the club 'a few years' rather than 'as long as I can remember'.
She's been there 7 or 8 years at least, was well established when we won the Championship.
You do choose some bizarre things to get your knickers in a twist over !RoyalBlue wrote:Of course you're not going to get into a pissing contest when you know you are going to lose! 7-8 years? Has good old Boyd been gone that long? How time flies!
Incidentally, Sara graduated from Reading University (a proper university!) with a First Class Honours Degree in Lingusitics in 2000, so if she joined RFC immediately as an untrained graduate, she could have been with the club 9 years.

Did you check your change carefully ?Jerry St Clair wrote:I walked into the club shop at Elm Park on a midweek afternoon in 1993 and was served by a certain Mr M McGhee.

Indeed, you hardly ever see any Man Utd shirts outside Salford and Arsenal struggled when they added 20,000 seats to their capacity !!Seal wrote:Who gives a fcuk? Football clubs are all utter gash at marketing anyway.
It's a fairly 'simple' view that all clubs are useless at it though !Seal wrote:LOL. Such a simple viewpoint. Just because they sell merchandise and tickets doesn't mean they are good marketers. They have the easiest job in the world. Selling a product based on irrational love. It's a dream scenario.
What other product does a consumer continue to buy which is unreliable, over priced, and frequently frustrates you?
Man U and Arsenal are better than most, but smaller clubs in particular are so old school in their approach it's no wonder so many are in financial trouble. Most clubs are barely able to sell beer effectively at half time, let alone monetise their fan base properly.
