Reading season-ticket prices set to be slashed

The cynics can feck orf really. £50 off is an important figure for me but not a massive on per head for 'ding. Everyone's a winner. I'm delighted.

Overall pretty decent price reduction, happy to have been involved in a small way for next seasons tickets and offers, hoping to see a few more ideas rolled out as the summer progresses. And this from a non attendee.

At the following prices there should be no complaints about any deals or offers to get more non ST to attend, IMHO this is about what football should cost.

Would like to have seen a 3 year ST, but I guess that was too much of a risk.

main stands,

Adult, £16-30 per game

65 and over £10-87p per game

17-21 £10-87p per game

16 and under £4-30p per game

Good price reduction but you have to wonder about further cloth cutting as this season is the last parachute payment. So you can only assume some of the higher earners will be going and they'll stick with those that have made the break through to the first team this season.

I don't expect too many signings.

Where did you see that extra £20 off for paying early? I just tried buying online and it's saying £375

I think you will find it is £395 after 4th June, as it is a £20 reduction on NEW STs

Out of interest, in reducing U16 tickets to just £99, how much have they reduced them from last season? Interesting that those tickets are the only ones where the amount of decrease has not been stated.

It would be good if they could take a bit off match day tickets and make sure there are plenty of special deals, just so we can still have a moan !!

Pleased to see there is a reduction in season ticket prices, but regardless of that this will almost certainly be my last season as a ST holder.
I shall pick and choose my games next season and it's possible I may not even bother going at all.

THis size of reduction, whereas applauded, has probably come 1 or 2 seasons too late. The price of an U16 ticket has finally reached realistic levels.

Still not buying though. My choice. My decision.

While the club are to be commended I can't help feel a bit disappointed at the inferred lack of ambition

The club are "giving away"£550000 in order to maximise ST renewals and guarantee income. £1/2M, in the grand scheme, is nothing - one £10,000 a week player or a small transfer fee.

I see no lack of ambition.

My family will save over £200 next season, so I will now renew all our tickets, whereas I wasn't planning on renewing all before the price reduction.

Having said that, I've spent nearly £200 on FA Cup games this season, so the club have used the Cup run to fund it.

Next season, with the new club Cup approach we may have a similar Cup run so there could be more income to support this reduction.

Also four people I know are now seriously looking at getting a season ticket for the first time next season, only because of the price reduction. It's a sensible strategy and the club might be pleasantly surprised by the level of renewals.

You miss the point - the cloth cutting was done LAST season....

We've taken the pain and not gambled everything on getting back up before the parachute payments disappear.

I can;t see why you would assume that anyone will go who we want to keep, and I don;t think McDermott will find too much of a problem getting the players he wants. We don't need large numbers....

I also suspect the new prices will mean we actually generate MORE income from ST this summer. I'll be buying 3 intead of two and have had several conversations with people who are going to buy having been match by match purchasers this season.

I suspect the highest earners are Cisse and marek

neither of which have played much part since christmas

I thought I paid more this season for my (then) 14 yr old than 9 yrd old. Was there not a band for 13-17 year olds?

Anyway good news, as commitments next year meant I was waivering, and kid's tickets now good value.
