You could make decent arguments for De Gea, AWB, Maguire and Pogba with your midfield and front three

That is probably right.
This idea that you can just go out and spend a fortune and hey presto you have a team is nonsense.
Firstly you need a top manager (Pep has shown that at City) and there aren't that many around.
Then you have to find top players.
Then those players have to want to come to a club that only plays in the Europa League.

I have been disappointed at how long it has taken Liverpool to get to the point of regularly challenging for the top honours again.
Arsenal have slipped away as have Chelsea and Spurs have to go back to 1962 for their last really top side.

I can't see Man Utd challenging for at least 10 years and maybe longer but that may just be wishful thinking.

It's still United - there's no other reason at the moment for them to have De Gea, Pogba and Martial (one of the most under-rated players in the PL in my view) in their ranks. They'll get there, probably sooner than a few of us hope.
