So since Bowen came in as manager we’ve not actually signed any strikers....

Under Gomes most of the players who came in weren’t players he identified or asked for. Certainly all the loan players were players he was given and told to use. Obviously that was pre Bowen.

Hard to say what ‘the role’ of a DofF is as there are as many definitions as there areclubs. Classically the manager coached the players but the DofF was the man in charge.

Hang on, those two are some of the most expensive transfer fees we’ve ever paid and are are both total pony. I think Dellor has every right to expect more from Puscas, like us all. As for Vydra...he was factually the worst signing we’ve ever made and should never play professional football again.

The CEO is in charge and sets the budget.

The DoF works under the CEO alongside the Manager and is the bridge to the CEO for the Manager to insulate him on finance etc a bit. And runs negotiations for contracts and transfers, managing the budget.

The Manager works under the CEO alongside the DoF. Focuses on the Team; coaching, selection, opposition scouting, tactics, strategy and transfer requirements.

The Chief Scout works for the Manager and DoF to find players fitting the Manager's requirements and DoF's budget.

There are actually some very good football pundits and presentors out there. We've obviously never had any but I like Tim Cahill and Danny Murphy lately. Mark Scwarzer is very good and for former players I would think that Murty would be very good.

Tim Dellor to me seems like one of those people who have 1 week left of their job and just half arse everything and don't bother. But he does it all the time.

I'm not saying it's the only embarrassing thing. I've pointed out annoying quirks about him (see my criticism about announcing goals etc) as we all have quirks but the guy is generally a pleasure to listen to for the silent majority. He's not a bad chap and to pick on a poor old radio presenter in the way some of us do (rather than like me pointing out mild annoyances), a fellow Reading fan who's just trying to do his job makes Reading fans look like total pricks if I'm honest.

But his job isn't to be a fan, his job is to commentate on the action in front of him. He fails to do this. I don't think anyone doubts his support for the club but a good supporter doesn't necessarily make a good commentator.
