Ian Royal he's a hot head with questionable decision making - he shouldn't be captain. he is though playing well now and is still improving

Make your mind up Ian - and he hasn't played the last few games through injury anyway.

If we are talking about a decision on certain people leaving in order to keep others staying...I'd rather left Fed and Mills go for this inevitable black hole than say Fed and Long or even Kebe.

But I don't think we should take our CB reserves for granted. Pearce is fine, Khish isn't too bad but no guarantee or being here next year, Ingi is reliable but on his last legs and Morrison is unproven.

prostak Bolton paid "an initial £2.3m with a further £1.5m based on appearances" for David Wheater, who has Premier League experience (ignoring for a second Mills' brace of appearances for Manchester City) and been in the England squad a few times. There's no way Mills will fetch more than that, and I'd expect a few hundred thousand less. As for the likelihood of this rumour - Wheater was signed largely as cover with an eye to the future, so I'd expect Coyle to go after someone a little more established when the time comes to replace Cahill. Money may dictate otherwise, though, and Mills' ball skills would be a decent complement to Zat Knight's... more traditional style, so it's possible.

You missed the crucial sentence:

The very same BBC article Wheater, who would have been out of contract in June, came through the ranks at Boro and made his debut for the club in March 2005.

A deal which could total £3.8m is a lot of money for a player out of contract in june!

Apology accepted, I hope no offence was caused with my reply... it was not meant seriously. :)
