Pre Season Tour - Portugal 2012

Rumours that Sheffield Wednesday will be in Portugal at the same time with games planned for 21/7 and 24/7 (same dates as us). Possible game between the Royals and the Owls ? Would be interesting, especially if Antonio makes the switch.

Seems highly probable then, Dave Jones says that Sheff Weds will be playing 2 games in the Algarve against premier league teams, one English and one Portuguese

Yeah I imagine it'll be an Algarve job. The only top flight team in the region is SC Olhanense, so they might be the tour's "big" game.

The venue for the final game against Olhanense has now changed. It will now be played at Estádio da Nora which is in the town of Ferreiras, about 5km North of Albufeira. Date and time unchanged.

I stayed in Vilamoura in 2004 - lovely place. It also has the best mini golf course in Europe there - which is skillz as you can buy a beer and play in the sun.

Well I'm going for the 10 days from 18th to 28th July. Staying in Albufeira and flying from Stansted.

The Sheff Weds game will now be played at the Estadio Municipal de Albufeira according to their OS.

And if anyone going over there is interested, Sheff Weds also have a game against Sporting Lisbon at Estadio Municipal de Albufeira on Sunday 22nd July (ko 8pm).
