When he kept us up I thought "What the oxf*rd"
Our current plight is a "What the oxf*rd"

05 Oct 2019 20:12Hey I picked a side: I think he should stay. My point being that we are who we are right now, and the replacement is unlikely to be anyone particularly better. Therefore it's a choice between giving any of these managers time to evolve or keep getting in New ones who have to go through the whole 'find their feet' phase again and again.AthleticoSpizz wrote:Nice bit of fence-sitting tbf
Where do you want us (as a club) to be?

05 Oct 2019 21:25exactly and that why we need to stop the rot now. I question whether the club can survive at a lower level. The long term future of the club interests me more.

05 Oct 2019 21:42My fear about falling to a lower level is that the owners see regression despite their investment and lose interest. We're then left without their funding with some large contracts on the book in League 1.krapmle wrote:exactly and that why we need to stop the rot now. we have moved on since elm park but there is a cost attached.

05 Oct 2019 21:48I think most people see the way you do. Likewise I got frustrated with people saying Clement had to go last year, and was a little despondent when he did go without getting a fair crack imoAthleticoSpizz wrote:This really would be the test of us being a football club or just another ‘business’
I (still) like to think of us as a club
He is still averaging more than 1ppg. Not great admittedly but I haven’t given up on him yet.Hound wrote:I think most people see the way you do. But I just can’t see it with Gomes. He’s had nearly a season now and we’re getting worse. I’d loved it to have worked out for him, but from what I’ve seen, he just hasn’t got it. His PPG is awful
I genuinely think we’ll go down if he hangs around , and realistically that’d be a disgrace with the squad we have made

05 Oct 2019 22:31I hear ya, I really do, and I agree. But as I say, I’ve heard in here that relegation would be a good thing for the club. I even heard that we should stick with the manager no matter what, even if we dropped in to League 2. I haven’t heard either the former or the latter espoused much lately though.WestYorksRoyal wrote:My fear about falling to a lower level is that the owners see regression despite their investment and lose interest. Hmm. IMHO Rodgers was totally out of his depth when he was here, Adkins just spouted psychobabble and Stam's "football" was the most turgid I've ever seen us play. Whereas Brian is and always will be a legend and the other two were solid appointments. Funny how opinions differ. So I suppose on that basis I'm Gomes outPistolPete wrote:I'm absolutely certain Gomes will be a good manager, but he needs to accept that the 3 men at at the back are making one big error per match too many.
I was Rodgers in, Adkins in, Stam in and I'm Gomes in.
FTR, I was McDermot out, Clarke out, and Clement out.

05 Oct 2019 23:22I mean, apart from the fact I only said the Boro result was an improvement on the Charlton result in several ways which were entirely factual, and that at the time we were looking like progressing better than the last season.sandman wrote:Too right DD.krapmle wrote:LMFAO fake snow.
