Lost 3-2. And remarkably, Shakhtar got that result with just 13 first-team squad members, following 19 positive COVID tests that included many of the usual starting XI. Incredible result.Stranded wrote:Real currently 3-0 down at home to Shaktar.
Would have been interesting to see where we would be now if we had managed to persuade Castro to join us when he turned down the chance and we went with Gomes.Sanguine wrote:Lost 3-2. Good win for Liverpool. Very open game as you'd expect at Ajax. Could have finished 3-3.
You’d almost think already at this early stage Liverpool are shoe ins for getting through to the next stage having probably played the best team in their group away from home and keeping a clean sheet without their best GK/CB/CM for a halfSanguine wrote:Lost 3-2. I'd have said the same for Origi had Elliott not gone on loan to Blackburn (and by all accounts a clear MotM on his debut last night) - so there's a chink of light for Origi, but I think his days as first off the bench are done.URZZZZ wrote:You’d almost think already at this early stage Liverpool are shoe ins for getting through to the next stage having probably played the best team in their group away from home and keeping a clean sheet without their best GK/CB/CM for a halfSanguine wrote:Lost 3-2. Must admit I was surprised to see Klopp throw Shaqiri, Jota and Minamimo on so early for Mane, Firmino and Mane but they all played relatively well. Signs seem pretty ominous for Origi now
Think Mowbray will work wonders for Elliott. Always got the impression he has a slight attitude problem (although that’s just based off an estimate) and he’s exactly the sort of old school manager who can get him up to speed and ready to compete in Liverpool’s squad in the futureSanguine wrote:I'd have said the same for Origi had Elliott not gone on loan to Blackburn (and by all accounts a clear MotM on his debut last night) - so there's a chink of light for Origi, but I think his days as first off the bench are done.URZZZZ wrote:You’d almost think already at this early stage Liverpool are shoe ins for getting through to the next stage having probably played the best team in their group away from home and keeping a clean sheet without their best GK/CB/CM for a halfSanguine wrote:

I actually fancy Atalanta to join Liverpool in the knockout stages. 23 goals in total (14 for Atalanta) in their four Serie A games so far, and they blew Midtjylland away last night.
I posted it before the game ended and it should have said losing.Hendo wrote:Playing 85 minute games in the Champions League now are they?
I really hope Real Madrid or Barca don't get hold of him, would love to see him over here in the Premier League on a weekly basis.Sanguine wrote:Erling Haaland the fastest player to 15 Champions League goals (albeit he is now on 16), in just 12 games. Beats the record previously held by Van Nistelrooy and Soldado, which was 19 games.
He's got 17 in 13 games now this season for Dortmund. 23 in 18 if you include his goals for Norway.
